Any one planing on picking up RE5 for the the PS3 any time soon? I want to play it with online co-op, but don't want to be paired up with some random racist/idiot/homophobe that tends to play on online. Any rad people want to play through the campaign with me? My PSN is tamtamg. Also everyone should feel free to exchange psn id's and gamertags here as well for RE5 CO-OP.

I just picked it up for 360 as well and my gamertag is aerodash84. I'm hoping to get some free time to really get into it.

I'm thinking about doing that Gamestop deal, to trade in some games I never play anymore and get the game for $20, but I hate knowing that I'm getting ripped off because I'm too lazy to sell old games via internet.
In any case, I may get it next week, but don't know what system to get it on just yet. Hopefully by the time I get it, people will still be up for a game.

I went for the deal. I got Civ Revolution for $15 so made a profit there. Halo 3 I haven't played much since I bought it. I had no problem trading them in.
I'll definitely be playing around that time. I don't have much time this weekend and week days are usually not enough time to play. So I'm in the same boat. I will be starting up some solo game later today.

What I hate about games like Gears and RE5 that are designed for co-op is that by the time I get around to them (me being the cheap ass gamer that I am), there's no one left who hasn't played it. Even if someone DID take pity and play it through with me, they'd just be leading me by the hand because of their familiarity. Games have a short enough shelf life as it is without adding one more ticking time bomb.

Sorry tamtamg... same here...I bought it for 360 as well. I can't help that I'm an achievement whore:(
anyway, I'm gglynn00 for both PSN and XBL, so add me and those w/ 360's, I'd be glad to slay some zombies tonight and in to the weekend.!!!

I bought it on 360, and I've got a partner that will be waiting to play with me every time I have a chance, but when we finish I might come back to see if anyone is looking for a second playthrough.

I'll buy it for PS3 when I can find it for $59.99. I'm not paying $69.99 just because it's Resident Evil. EB can go to hell.
Maybe WalMart will have it..

My boyfriend has this thing where he will not play a game co-op with me until he has finished the entire game by himself. But then by the time both of us finish the game, we don't really want to play it through all again for the sake of co-op.
With resident evil 5 coming out I have been asking to play it together but it doesn't look like its going to happen.
He says that it will ruin the game, but some people says that it enhances the experience...hmm. Not sure what to think.
I asked a buddy of mine what he would do and he said he would be thrilled if his girlfriend wanted to play with him.... but I think it might be different in reality.
What do you guys do? Do you play it through THEN do co-op or do you opt for co-op from the start?

I should be getting Resi 5 tomorrow and will be looking for someone to play with on 360. I'll usually play between 11pm GMT and 1am GMT. So either a European gamer or an east coast US gamer would probably have the best chance of being online when I am.

Personally the way I would is I'd play through the first 2 chapters (1-1 & 1-2, won't take long) or so to start and get the controls and mechanics down, then let the other do the same, and when they either get a feel for it or want me to, I'd jump in and head on through the rest from there.
It's definitely helpful to have a real person helping and not a spotty A.I.

Played through the first couple of chapters last night...My, my, my, Capcom did a great job with the Co-Op online play. The person I played with was new to the mechanics(said she hadn't played RE4), but it was ok as long as I didn't let her out of my sights for too long. Also, the "splitting" of gold and the combined "finding" of treasures tends to make the game more fair.
Man, I could go on forever about how impressed I am, but I just want to know if anyone got any cool achievement/trophies on their first day?
So far I got:
A Friend in Need (15 points): Save partner 10 times when HELP is displayed.
A Cut Above (15 points): Defeat 5 enemies with the Knife.
Lifeguard (15 points): Save partner 10 times when DYING is displayed.
Stop, Drop, & Roll (15 points): Defeat 3 Majini at once by setting oil canisters on fire.
Very satisfying.

I decided to try the game a little by myself the other day and I gotta say it's pretty rough. Part of it isn't being used to the controllers. The GameCube controllers seemed a little more natural for RE4 and the 360 has taken getting used to. So I've died twice early on due to some controller issues, but there is something to be said about having a real person playing. I wanted to split coverage between characters, but you can't quite tell her exactly what to do. I also seem to have trouble aiming as I can't see the red dot from my gun most of the time. So I want to like it, but my experience so far has been frustrating.

Figured that be the case. It's only people who talk co-op that I've heard good stuff about (though I haven't read many reviews so couldn't jump to conclusions).

Anytime I'm on send me an invite guys, I am definitely in a position to be a really good partner, as I have unlocked lots of good weapons including Sheva's Longbow with infinite ammo.
Plus I'm always down for the Completion Points and gold. =)
