Steve, the good bye to your house was absolutely beautiful, and I mean that in the fullest sense.

I love the fact that you used the final song in Six Feet Under (greatest show of all time) to accompany. It really struck a chord in me. And being an aspiring editor, I look up to you and the fantastic work you've been putting out the past two years. I'll miss ya a lot...

P.S. It was rough seeing Jeff get so sad at the end there. Man, amazing episode.

Am I late to the party realizing that it's totally Jeff who does the voice of the intro? I'm almost positive that it's him. It is isn't it? I've always kind of thought that, but in the new intro it's more obvious i think.

This truly is the end of an era...as such, after watching this episode, and LavaHot's montage, I took some time to think, and I realized a few things about TRS and the people who watch it.

What I realized, is that it is totally and completely unlike any other show of any kind ever in that there is no pretense, there is nothing separating us from Jeff, Dan, Alex, Steve and now Mike. They're just nerds like us. And though physically, we may all be hundreds (even thousands) of miles apart, we all share a kinship. We may all be complete strangers, but TRS is something that binds us. It transcends its medium of a humble weekly web show to something inexplicable and wonderful.

I also realized that we, all of us, are TRULY a community. Through my time running the IRC chatrooms for TRS and Rev3's other shows, I have met many a fan of many a show. While there are some good people amongst those groups of fans, by comparison to us, to our COMMUNITY, they are simply complete strangers who happen to share a single interest in that particular show.

This is the thing about TRS, it's not just about movies, it's not just about video games, TV or Comics...it's about people. Call us geeks, call us nerds, call us outcasts, misfits, or anything you like. We come from all walks of life. Some of us parents, some of us children, some of us young, old, single, married, divorced, black, white, asian, hispanic, all of the above, none of the above...if any one of us saw someone wearing a TRS shirt, or overheard a reference to Dan's epic English Tea failure, or any manner of reference to the show, we would know IMMEDIATELY, that we are in the prescence of friends. We welcome all and reject no one.

On that note...Mike, we, the fans, welcome you into our community; into our FAMILY. Steve, we're sad to see you go, but we know that you aren't TRULY leaving, you're always welcome here and in our chat room, and I'm sure we haven't heard the last of you, nor will we for as long as you wish.

And so, while it is the end of an era for all of us, let us not lament for days gone by. A new year of TRS, with new ideas, new friends, new "Dan moments", is dawning. And we should all look forward to it.

Couldn't agree more Tux. The TRS community is the most welcoming and friendly online community I've ever been involved with. I tend to lurk most of the time online but felt welcome here. Good people and great discussions made sticking around here easier.

Of course, none of this would be possible with the guys from TRS. Tuesday night has become TRS night for me and it's something I can look forward to even when I'm on the road for work. The show has always seemed to stay true to the core idea that the show is about 3 (4) guys hanging out and chatting as they normally would about all sorts of things. They're no different than most of us and that makes them terribly accessible. Of course, they have a camera and Rev3. :)

I'm proud to wear my TRS swag and i'm proud to be part of this community.

Re: Episode 104, I am nervous and excited to see how TRS evolves. I'm also bummed to see Steve head off to differently hued pastures, but can't wait to see what Mike has in store for us. Thanks for letting us into your clubhouse and hopefully the next two years are as eventful as the last two years.

Please never start the show like that again i know its the end of an era but i saw that the show was out early and i knew something was wrong then you guys talking about how its over and thats it i was really gutted.

What an emotional episode, i am an emotional person like Jeff and i was doing ok till right at the end when his voice broke i started blubbering (sad i know) i feel like ive grown up with you guys for 2 years and i just want to thank you Steve for everything youve added to the show you have definately been one of the highlights i love all the little things you pop up on the screen behind the guys and as with any "character" leaving a "show" its going to be wierd not having you around.

So good luck Steve i hope everything goes well and i hope you wont be a stranger and pop back now and again.

But im also excited about what Mike will bring to the show so im definately looking forward to seeing his contributions, im a bit apprehensive about the complete reboot and im cautiously looking forward to the new format.

Heres to another 2 years of rad.

So you almost had me when Jeff started breaking down a little bit and then you had to go and bring up all of my repressed Six Feet Under saddest television moment ever memories. It was truly a beautiful episode and Mike definitely has some big shoes to fill now. So, both a sad farewell and welcome aboard are in order. Congrats on two years guys. Here's to two more, and two more, and two more.

There are SOOOO many moments in this episode, that in themselves, show why TRS has been running for 2 years. Amazing.

And from the look of the finale montage, we have lost Steve at the top of his game, because the editing a filming was truely beautiful.

Jeff's fairwell to Steve summed it all up, and i fought back tears. <3

I don't think an online show will ever be as good as trs. Ever.

Good luck steve x x

OMG, what a ride!

I'm watching TRS in the office too and had to hide behind my monitor... Yes, I also cried a tear or thwo, especially when Jeff broke down... that's true emotions, nothing a Movie or TV Show will ever even come close to. Reading through all our replies here in the forums also brought back the emotions, this is so powerful...

The house tribute was a genius piece of video Steve, I'd like to join the rest of us in wishing you all the best for the future, we'll miss you!

And I was also shocked during the intro when you were like "ok that's it, this is the end, we're done" .... WHAT?! my heart almost stopped beating...

Although I'm also a little bit concerned about the future (the fear for the unknown), I'm looking forward to all the new ideas you guys and the new Mike will have :-). I don't think Mike should try to copy Steve's humor though. He should be himself and original!

All the best for a lot more years we hope,
Mike from Belgium

The Totally Rad Show was literally the first podcast I ever listened to and it's still my favorite. It wasn't until I watched this episode that I realized just how attached I am to this show.

I've never met any of the guys but when Jeff got choked up at the end, I did too, because it's like I DO know them. I welcomed them into my home every week and they've made me laugh, think, and now, cry a little bit. You just don't get that from any other show. A poster already said something to the effect that we're not just a fanbase but a community.

Yeah...I love this show. Thanks, Jeff, Dan, Alex and Steve.

This episode was so sad. When I noticed that something was different, I started becomming suspicious. During the intro I thought: "This is not the end, right?" Then I saw the new intro and I was filled with new hope. But the new intro wasn't as good as the original.

I agree on the lists, but I wonder where The Last Dragon intro was on the list. Cosby Show FTW.

Great to see the fan tribute to Steve on the show. I was embarassed when I saw myself.

Finally Steve was infront of camera. A memorable end of an era. I became sad when I saw the end. I'm going to miss Steve and his house.

God what a wonderful show guys, an absolute roller coaster of emotion for me this afternoon as I sit here in the Academic Building of Aquinas College, probably looking like a fool laughing my ass off, then trying to hide my emotions while sitting out in the open... I wasn't expecting this episode to be this touching at all, but I have to be honest when I say that it is a very good thing.

Steve, you will be missed greatly, and it is really quite sad to see you go. To think I would get choked up thinking about someone else's house, especially when its on the opposite side of the country, wow.... That's just how amazingly powerful this community is, how much we all love you and your work, and really how much we're going to miss you when you're gone.

To Mike, welcome to the team my friend. I don't want to make it sound mean, but we've got high expectations, all of which I'm absolutely certain that you can fill. As someone who used to do some video editing, I'm well aware of how much work can go into just ten minutes of footage, and I wish you the best of luck in your efforts now that you've come aboard the USS TRS. Cheers mate!

To Alex, Dan and Jeff... You guys are well aware of how much we fans love you guys, and how much we thank you for the show every single week. I wish there was a way to quantify it, but I think that it is absolutely impossible. Its too good for that. I'm very much looking forward to the changes we have coming, and if it will be fran-driven like you made it out to be, I hope to do my best in being a part of it.

To two years of my favorite show!

To two more years!

Happy St. Patrick's day everyone, and good luck with the live show tonight!

This episode was such a cathartic experience, with both laughter and tears, and there could not have been a more perfect break with what has been in order to usher in what is to come. I'm just glad that, through Lavahot's expert work, I was able to show even that small amount of my appreciation.

Surprisingly, I find myself far more excited than worried about what the future holds for TRS: Mike will no doubt do an amazing job; Jeff, Dan, and Alex are talented, creative people who will shape their show in a way that will entertain us all; and Steve gets to come over to our side of the screen and be a fan with the rest of us!

So here's to the breaking of a new dawn. May the sun shine all the brighter on the years ahead.

Fitting really, as it was show 52 that brought me into the TRS universe. It a great show, and everyone was funny and extremely entertaining, blah, blah, blah. Everyone says the same and rightly so.

Looking back I can't believe A year has passed and that 52 shows have entered and been (To one extent or another) engrained onto my psyche, so well done guys,
Kudos,

...Er... Hurrah?

Steve you are my god and you will be sorely missed. I along with Jeff got teary eyed watching those last ten minutes and never thought a podcast could hit me that hard. TRS just set the standard for internet television and everyone else is playing catch-up.

I'm excited for the 'new format' in whatever form it will take and also can't wait for the DVD. Hopefully Rev3 does the same for its other shows.

Welcome to the family Mike!

I loved this episode, it really moved me in all the spectrums of emotion. From the anticipation to seeing if my background or intro (let alone both) got chosen for the top spots, to the emotional tributes to Steve. Tying Sia's "Breathe Me" to the tribute to Steve's house and the previous association I had with SFU's finale, I was in pieces. I find it hard to believe that anyone would not get choked up along with Jeff while watching this episode.

Great work to Alex, Jeff, Dan, Steve, and Mike. This only emphasizes why this is my favorite podcast.

Okay. I wrote that previous thread before I'd seen the video Steve made.

And while that movie was great. Truly awesome work. Sia - Breath me is engraved in my heart and soul and forever connected with the end of Six Feet Under. Which made me emotionally confused.

Very nice touch with the couch ending though...

This episode is best described as sour-sweet. Filled with beautiful moments and memories. It's like a season's finale without a cliffhanger. We conclude stuff.

Now the community is going to take some time to soak it all in. But keep in mind that the live show is happening today, and next week everyone will get to see it. I'm sure it will be fun packed as always.

So even if we end on a sad note, I'm very hopeful because there are more years of TRS to come!

Steve's house tribute was totally amazing. Community video was great too, glad to see the community hold together like this. I can really imagine us being a great family =)

Whilst I can understand that a lot of you would like to congratulate Steve and the TRS team for their work over their years. It seems like them dedicating a whole 50 odd minutes to it is completely wasteful. Come ON! this show is not Seinfeld or anything of that scale to deserve such a self indulgent waste of time. I hated last years episode when they did this, and I hated this one even more. I would have liked them to dedicate time to Steve at the end of a normal episode, but not this whole show of "err look at what we did this year"

I really hope this stops with this episode, because I cannot stand another year of a clip show of a bunch of dudes talking. Whilst I understand what they do is difficult and interesting, it does not merit the usage of so much useless time self congratulating itself for it's efforts. Users can vote for this and they could have just posted one montage. I love the show, but this is one of the worst wastages of time I have seen in a while.

I hope they review some games / movies in their next episode. I know that the introduction of co-op is kind of treading on their toes, but I still want to know what these three guys think about games etc. I want it every week so I have I can filter my purchase needs.. not sappy. The show should be self effacing not congratulatory, we the fans have the right to do that.

Really?? I watch every episode every week religiously. I guess I never found the intros that much of a draw to the episodes I just found what they had to say far more important. I guess a lot of people here contribute to the art-work of their introductions, i guess if that is the case, this is a nice ode to their works.

Wow... really? A one-episode retrospective pissed you off that much? You couldn't go a week without seeing a new movie, buying a new game, or reading a new comic based off the reactions of the TRS gang? You knew going in that the episode was going to be a retrospective, just skip the show for a week.

Agreed. For every awesome yearly retrospective you get 51 awesome 'normal' shows. Relax. Normal transmission will resume shortly...

Man, I've been around the rev3 forums for years, but never felt the need to register until now. You act as if every episode of TRS is like episode 52 or 104. If you got this upset watching these episodes, then I suggest not watching episode 156.

Actually, this sort of reflection may seem self indulgent. But, it's a huge part of geek culture. Geek's love listing things. They love video clips, sound bytes, sample and quote. They love talking about bests and worsts. They love mashing things up. What could be more appealing in a podcast devoted to geek culture to so that to itself. It's part of the fabric of our geekdome.

As far as the celebration of Steve. Communities needs transitions. Baptisms, graduations, weddings and funerals are all public ceremonies to acknowledge a change from was-was to what-will-be. Communities need this pomp and circumstance in general. This online community needs it specifically.

Steve is leaving, they're changing the format. Helping their community celebrate and mourn that change by having a self reflective milestone...that's just plain awesome.

I want to stop people from responding to you negatively. I will delete any open flames. Don't spoil this occasion.

Step back and listen to your rad angels. Bring the love.

Hey guys, lets jump down the throat of the guy who has a different opinion!

To be fair I felt like it was kind of weak in the sense that it was only intros and backgrounds at first but seeing as how it was a shift in how shows are going to be made it was warranted and ended up being entertaining, I watched all of it.

This episode just made think of all the amazing and memorable moments we, as a community have had together. I couldn't thank the TRS guys any more for the great work they've put into the show since it started. We all know how great the show has turned out to be and I look forward to seeing what's to come.

Steve, I know that we have you to thank for all the hours and hours of great work that you put into this show, I'm sorry about all of the weekends that you've missed over the last two years!! However, I hope that you are proud of what you have accomplished, to have gained an amazing group of not just fans, but friends that I'm sure would invite you into our homes as you have invited us into yours. The fact that you have made so many of us shed a tear through the use of internet video is truly amazing and wonderful. I honestly couldn't think of anything else like this that would bring a tear to my eye.

Thank you, for two simply wonderful, crazy, amazing and beautiful years of the Totally Rad Show.

That shot of the couch GOT ME!! I mean I welled up with that shot.

Don't forget that this isn't just a (free) show. It's four friends getting together and making that show. If they want to dedicate a portion of one of their shows to losing one of those four friends from the making of the show, at best you can enjoy it, and at worst you can skip it. But I think it's obvious that losing Steve from the regular production of the show is a significant change, and an emotional one, as anyone who has developed transient friendships with co-workers or schoolmates can attest to.

I'm appreciative that the guys let us peek behind the curtain a little bit today. I though Steve's contribution to the show was tremendous, and I'm going to miss him, too. Because of that, I'm glad they took the time to reminisce.

Best to Steve at his new place of employment!

Ok, one desperate person had to be negative to get some/any attention at the end of the long thread of positivity. Thank you Rush Limbaugh wannabe.

Back to reality. The opening, being the last, (not so sure about that, but I trust them), thank you to the intro gods. That was one of the coolest, maybe ever. (The HBO thing, I am fuzzy on the Opening vs. Intro thing.) The old open followed by the new one, I thought bad things. Not a new opening! Like "Cheers", don't change it just alter it a little. (I guess they did do that really.) I liked the way they went with it. I will always miss the old one of course. It was like Steve passing the torch to the very capable Mike.

New show format in some ways confirms that the new opening is just a new direction. I am still a bit nervy with no Intros. Seeing how they figured them out was part of the excitement and anticipation every week, but I trust they know what they are doing.

Now to that guy Steve. What you have presented to us for two years has been such entertainment. Like watching Dennis Miller. Watching your TRS is looking for that underlying humor. The sarcasm. The quick wit that makes you have to pay attention and be quick as well, to be a fan. A fan I am.........Steve. Doesn't have the same magic with out the rhyming.

One of the last times I laughed with out the ability to stop was the Dave Chappelle, "Inside the Actors Studio." That last question, "If there is a Heaven,.....what do you want God to say to you. Dave Chappelle says, "Good job bill, you have become a law." Funny reference and brilliant at the same time. It beat me.

The best I can say, as I am not God (No matter how many time she cries out) is, "Steve, you have done good things."

I have said that to many prominent people. Don Rickles, Bill Cosby, Dan Akyroyd, Dory Funk Jr., Owen Hart (broke my heart when he died. Just a good guy.) Many other people I have met and respect.

Steve you have done something special and you have done good things. That video at the end of this show seemed to be not just "the last ride of Steve and his immortals", it was seemingly a tribute, thank you and goodbye to us, the fans. Steve, you beat me.

Steve set the bar high and I trust in Mike. (That fans' tribute was an awesome idea. A sign of things to come?) I regret not taking place. I didn't have the equipment then. I do now! But alas, the road not taken.

See you all next week and for the next years ahead.

Amazing, amazing, amazing show. New intro; blew my mind. Steve's house clip; crazy memories. My god, and what is this about Jeff being the intro voice? NO WAY. NO WAY I went two years without realizing this!
Tears were shed, no denying it.
On your future: I've never watched 1up yours before (not sure if the cast is exactly the same,) but watching coop for the past two weeks (and some ifanboy eps here and there) has only highlighted for me how amazingly well you three interact and work off of each other, and the diversity of opinions you offer. No slight to those guys, their shows are wonderful and I'll keep watching them as well, but your... je ne sais quoi, your synchronicity makes your show that much more compelling, gives it that magic that makes a great piece of net-ivision.

Oh yeah the cast had answered before that the voice in the opening was Jeff (albeit modified.) and the singer was Alexs' chick. (Heather Stewart) It was an Email response.

Also, the writing for the first opening, as well as the second I want to know. If this one was so different and "forward thinking", who wrote these parts? The same person, the new person, or is it a collaboration? Good writers. I would like to know.

I also forgot to reference Jeffs' emotions. I feel for ya'. When I left the revolving crew that I prowrestled with for a few years, I was broken. I trained hurt and ate with these people for years. My Hotel room door was, literally, never closed, for years. As I slept, showered, ate, and lived; my hotel room door was open, literally. These are people that I worked, hurt and performed with for years. I would miss every painful moment......still do. I cried as I said good bye.

Every emotion is valid. Jeff represented many of us. He just can't find the words. (Although I tried in my first lengthy post.) You want to say everything in as little words as possible. Not always possible.

I guess the best is.......Thank You! What you did worked. You did good.

No kidding, he (Dory) was my original trainer.

Not only that. You want respect? Try doing your first thing on your own. Having Dory come up to you laughing and shaking your hand saying he was proud of what you did without his knowledge, and that HE was entertained?

I am telling you, my Father has never shown that much pride. My father is not the type to not be proud either. But to have Dory say it. Whoa!

Then later to be told by Dory that he will miss our talks about wrestling. Are you kidding me? He will miss the way we talked about pro wrestling? I loved my chats with my brothers about wrestling, and he missed mine? Wow!

Regardless, though, I'll stick with you guys. I loved the past 2 years, and I'm looking forward to many more.

This final episode was a real roller coaster The end was scary, and exciting, the meaty middle was full of nostalgia, and then the end. The end was so epic, and sad. I almost lost it when Jeff started to break down. It really showed off the sense of true comradery that makes TRS, and the rest of the Rev3 shows so different from (and better than) standard TV.

We're all there with you Jeff. It's always sad when a member of the family has to leave.

I couldn't agree with you more.
You never get a good sense of how close you are with someone until they have to leave/are gone. And Jeff (slightly) breaking down showed exactly how close a relationship they have with Steve.

Lavahot's tribute was AMAZING.

Steve's house tribute was more than amazing. It gave me chills watching it. How everything was edited together and the song choice was so moving. It saddens me that Steve won't be doing that for TRS again.

Only 2 shows/movies have ever made me cry. The movie Click. And this episode. I didn't just cry once, I cried multiple times. The fan video. The house tribute. When Jeff got choked up. The hugs at the very end. Reading all the nice things in this topic. Typing this....

I didn't realize until this episode just how important this show is to me. How big a part of my life it is. How much I need it to get through my Tuesdays, and occasionally Wednesdays.

That fan tribute was amazing, and I wish that I could have been a part of it. The house tribute was one of the most beautiful things that I have ever watched. I was laughing and crying at the same time. I've never done that before, I wasn't aware that I was able.

The Totally Rad Show hit a whole new level of Totally Rad this week.

I wish that I knew more words so that I could properly describe this episode.

To all you guys, I just want you to know that I had a shitty day at work today.... scrap that.... a shitty month. I've had tough few weeks outside of that, and it hasn't been the best 12 months.

Every Friday night for the last 2 years, my mate and I have got together and watched the weeks new episode of TRS. Every Friday night it takes us about 3 hours to watch what is usually an hour long show. We'll watch the into... then pause to satisfy the uncontrollable urge to discuss the movie you homage d in your intro. Then we'll watch about 5 minutes of your first film segment and have to pause again before the first one of you even speaks as some bit of geek news surfaces from the weeks memories that we just have to discuss. Then we'll watch another 5 minutes and argue or agree on what your saying about this weeks film before you've even finished. This process repeats itself for the next few hours as we savor another mind bendingly inspirational episode of TRS. This has been my Friday night for the last 2 years, and anything else I've done has been a bonus.

So I got home tonight, downloaded the show, grabbed a beer out of the fridge and sat down to watch it. I got as far as the new intro and stopped. "Wow!"... I thought. I knew I should wait until Friday night, but I couldn't resist. By the time Steve's tear-jerker finished, I had a smile on my face a mile-wide. This show is the best. All of a sudden I got to thinking that work wasn't so bad and I was blowing things out of proportion a little. Life's good, I thought (okay, I had two beers :) ). Now I can't wait until Friday night. This show is something special.

Thanks guys.

i love the new intro, but the transition sketch between the new and the old kinda scared me for a minute. also, dan looks like one of the biker punks from akira. i could just see him hopping on a cycle and kicking ass with spiked chain.

Steve, for the past 2 years, you've been a god among insects. Never let anyone tell you different.

I'm a bit worried about the loss of the show intros....the best ones hit me with a shock of nostalgia for things I haven't even thought about in years (like the HBO intro this week). I also get a bit anxious when I hear the word 'community' get tossed around, if only because it tends to create an out-group of people who don't hang around in the IRC chat, have no photoshop skills, etc. I get the want to bring in the fans into the experience....but the show works because it's you guys in front of the camera (and Mike apparently behind the Atlasphere - although I loved the 1UP Yours reference). That said, I trust that you'll figure it out.

I rarely post in the forums but I want to thank Jeff, Alex, Dan, Steve and now Mike for this incredible show. I remember how upset I was over the whole TechTV/G4 fiasco but what has come out of that is even better. We've got Revision3, TWiT and best of all, the Totally Rad Show. I've been hooked since episode 1 and I'm looking forward to whatever you have in store for us next.

although I loved the 1UP Yours reference

When Jeff said "the wheels of steel" I laughed, and then he said "I don't really know what that means" and I realized that Alex and Dan didn't really get it and then they moved on, which made it even more funnier. I'm not sure what the heck "the wheels of steel" ever meant on 1up Yours either, but I certainly enjoyed hearing Jeff say it.

And now moving on to the episode. Suffice it to say, I cried. It has been said countless times, but it bears repeating: You'll be greatly missed Steve. Your humor was always readily apparent in the show, and things will definitely feel far different without you. Mike certainly has big shoes to fill.

If this was the final episode of the Totally Rad Show, I'd still feel satisfied. Fantastic job.
Every week I was amazed at how much work you put into the show, Steve. You are really an inspiration, and to me, the heart of the show.
Best of luck to Mike.

That said should the Wikipedia now have Eps 1-102 as S1 and future ones as S2? Or the Steve Saga and the Mike Saga?

Thanks everyone. This thread has been really wonderful to read. I love being a part of this community. We are just one part of the equation that makes a totally rad show - you all are the other part. Hopefully, the small changes we have going forward will emphasize that even more.

To that end, let me clarify:

We may have over-emphasized the "reboot". It isn't a complete format change (although we're committed to evolving over time). Mostly, we're just going a different way with the show's cold opens. Hopefully you'll dig it as it comes together, and you'll want to participate.

More to come soon. :)

Royterp - how bout a shot of Jeff on the skateboard from the same vid ? Or a gif of him flipping around. I don't think the general TRS fanbase populous has any idea that he is so stealthily limber.

BTW Jeff - speaking of those vids, summer is coming ( or according to today/tonight, already here ), and that 'twins/best friends' vid reminds me, we should ball some time. ( I'm using the word 'ball' in the generally associated with by the kids these days manly sporting way, not the other manly sporting way.... after that we can oil up and wrestle ) . . . and unrelated P.S. BTW Jeff, you nail stunt falls. The movie segment intro and the Last Dragon jumps are sensational.

Was glad to see they carried on the story of the intro again... even if they didn't use mine :P

After weeks our heroes find keys to free the shackles that bind their feet. Released, they flee through a sea of ETs with glee - the escapees were home for tea! Their captors see they are happy; their queen comes to them on bended knee and pleads for more technology critiques. The Rad Three agree with sympathy, and her majesty is greatly relieved. At least, that's what I believe - it's one of many hypotheses about The Totally Rad Show.

I will say the clips in the movie segment look like a pirate (I'm guessing they were) did you guys have permission to film it? why couldn't you just get clips from where ever you normally do???
