Just wondering what everyone thinks of the new Digg update. I love some of the new features, and I think it looks a lot better.

Personally...I dont like it as much as before. I dont know...Maybe I do. Its still fine I guess. A little messy looking I think.

I agree that it is a little messy looking, but I do like it. I think it will get cleaned up in the future. There is just so much you can do so I guess it would be kind of hard to make it look really clean without loosing some functionality.

Yeah after looking at it again its not too bad...I really like the podcast section. Great way to gather all the podcasts in one place. Overall....Its fun to have an update and looks nice.

I don't like it. It makes the ad too noticable. I also liked the side nav thing. Is there a classic mode?

I like it, a lot. I have been using it for, hmm, all of about five minutes now? And let me tell you, thank GOD I have another podcast directory I don't have to load up iTunes for anymore.

Kudos for the podcast directory, alone. Kudos. It seems faster, as well, and that's always a plus. I look forward to having a bit of free time this afternoon to check it out more in depth.

I'm not so sure about it. It's difficult when they move everything around. They should have left the basic locations of the functions the same. Know what I mean? I love the podcast feature, it's too bad I can't figure out why the one I added isn't showing up.

The one I added says:

Not Approved Yet

Once Digg approves your podcast submission, other users will be able to view it.

Thanks! I wonder why digg thinks they need to approve podcast submissions. What's the dif between a podcast feed and a news story?

I like the update. It seems cleaner and less fussy. No need to bonk us
over the head with space age features. Just solid stuff.

There might be a difference in how the link is promoted through Digg. Digg submissions tend to get stale quickly. An older submission could have many diggs and not see the frontpage. Differentiating content that is periodically updated would be necessary to keep the submissions from getting stale.

I really like it. The GUI will take some time to get used to, but I absolutely love the video playing feature. Now there is no reason for people blindly digging videos.

Yeah some of the features, like the video one, have actually changed the way I use Digg a little. I used to open all the stories I haven't read yet in a new tab, so I would go through like 3 pages of stories and look at my favorites. This means the only stories I would Digg were the ones on the last page I was on, because I was too lazy to go back to the first few pages just to Digg the stories. Now I can just digg while watching the video.

I like the new layout. A LOT. And I'm one usually opposed to change. But this looks good.

I do agree that the ads are a but too noticeable. I'm going to suggest that they have the option of a paid account to skip the ads. And a combination account for both skipped the ads AND getting "early" downloads. I'd pay.

Right, but it is a controlled mess; kinda like the Digg community :-)

I'm still finding the change a bit weird, but I'm sure that I'll get used to it. Everything seems a bit cleaner now, and I'm glad that it has the time posted relative to when a story got to the front page, not when it was submitted. And as a widescreen user, I like the flexibility of page width.

Change is good. It's no Google, but it looks okay.

I wonder if Daniel Burka will be willing to talk about this update when I interview him Wednesday.

I am not sure how I feel about this...

I like it a lot. I like to keep my windows as small as possible and Digg was always the widest site I visited which cause small annoyances many times. It now fits with all my other things going on much nicer.

I like it, but it's going to take a few days to get used to it. Though, I have noticed somethings maybe gone, such as the ability to see who's saved you as a friend.

Good job, though!

Name dropper. Jealousy abounds.

Yeah man, I don't think that Jay Adelson would like that when I ask him about it on IM. Neither Dan Huard.

just takes forever to load comments, then and now, dont understand why a page of just type takes longer to load than a high definition photo.

While still relevant, you've managed to mention someone you "know" who is, to some extent, e-famous even though it fits into the entire conversation. This has made originx somewhat angered that you're a tad more important than he because of you association with Daniel B. In keeping with the theme, I've mentioned my association with Jay Adelson and Dan Huard as a joke of sorts, facetiously.

Ah yes, I've met a few people. In person. Shaken hands. Drank beer. Does this make me even more "important"? *grins*

Okay, I just lost all dignity.

Wow, very nice improvement. Although the navigation may take some getting used to, it's still very nice. Nice, clean interface now. DUGG :D

I really like the new Digg.com update! Dugg it!

The podcasting feature is probably the best update that I like, even though the redesign looks very simple and nice.
