View Full Version : What do you think has been the biggest fail in the new season of Heroes?

I have to say that in my opinion, the biggest fail of the new season has been that they totally dropped the ball on the character of Micha. Of all of the characters introduced in the first season, his character had the most potential for radical growth on either side. He could easily be the Oracle (Barbara Gordon, former Batgirl) of the Heroes universe, but way better, or just as easily could be a perfect super villain. Here are the reasons why I say this:
1. Coming from a disfunctional split family creates a heck of a lot of inner struggle, even without the pressure and responsibility of having super human abilities.
2. Although he wants desperately to be a hero, and fight crime with his parents (which would be a real, if silly emotion reaction for a small boy who learns he and his parents can do super human things), his mother obviously has done terrible things in the past (till she redeamed herself somewhat and then died). His father is on the run from the law (till he redeams himself and then dies). All of this creates a fertile ground for emotional upheaval and personality conditioning.
3. He loses both of his parents and has to stay with unfamilar realitives. Feeling like an outsider in an unfamilar place can either bring out the best or worst in someone.
4. His powers are that he can communicate with any type of machine. The machines all like Micha, and will do anything that he asks of them.
NOW REALLY THINK ABOUT THAT.
How devistating could that power be in the wrong hands?
On the flip side of that, think how useful that could be to the world community if someone could do that.
I could go on, but the fact that they haven't even mentioned him since his cousin got hurt trying to get his backpack back from those hoods is a real shame in my book.
Now there is the possibility that "Rebel" is Micha, but that is still unclear.
Anyway, I was just thinking about that. What do you all think?
(Trying so hard not to mention the total reshaping of Mohinder's moral makeup, or the whole bad guy/good guy/bad guy Silar thing, or Peter & Hiro losing the epic powersets, or........)

Kudos to you sir for putting that much thought in to it. But I would say you are writing a letter to the 'White Star Line' complaining about dirty cutlery during your Titantic package holiday. The problems Heroes have had, since season 2 really, are that they haven't even the slightest clue what they are doing, where they are going or why they should bother.
I stopped watching the show a few episodes back and I'm thrilled about the hours of my life I am getting to use for something else.

By the By Micha was in Season 3. He met the "Icegirl". But the show is really going no where. With the main characters having powers and not. who's a hero who's a villian blah blah blah. Give Peter his powers back have him fight Spock and move on.

I am still watching.
I like the "underground railroad" for people with powers that Claire seems to be at the head of (not leading, just first person in a chain). This is a potentially intriguing story line and will allow the "hero of the month" to be introduced. It also offers an alternative to future Claire now that the future was changed by Peter (or was it?).
Micah as Rebel? Hmm. Maybe. Seems to have control over machines (video cameras, communication devices, etc). Interesting call. I was considering Angela Petrelli somehow, but Micah fits.
There is so little "good" TV on these days that I currently have nothing to fill the void Heroes would leave on my DVR.
Can we get Eureka back on SyFy ( ) ASAP?

Truthfully, I hope that this Rebel guy is part of the government and using the heroes to help them capture people and keep the main guys in line by making them think they are doing good. I think it would be awesome if Claire sent the people she helped to their capture without knowing it and this was the easiest way to keep her in check.
There are still problems, and I think the best way to solve them is for the writers to come up with an overall plot for a season and stick with that.

Micah could've easily been picked up by Angela to help the fight. And hopefully it is him because when he was shown in Angela's dream in Ch. 3 and from there was never given a huge part of that chapter, it was one of the bigger disappointments.
Sylar still chasing his childhood was another huge problem for me, and I'm interested in where he goes from here now that he got his closure. That story arch should have never gone longer than one chapter.
I've pretty much given up on the show and I'll watch it if I have nothing else to do that hour. I am hoping that Heroes gets an end date because maybe then they'll get focused. Surprised that they're going on another season to be honest.

Biggest fail = Parkman drawing the future.
I was willing to accept the plot device for Isaac in Season 1, because it was new.
I was willing to accept it coming from "African Isaac" in S.2, because the power worked differently.
I didn't like it when Papa Petrelli received the power later in S.2, because he shouldn't have even known that Peter had that power when he ripped it off, much less how to tap into it.
Parkman gets the power in S.3....and it works the same way Isaac's power did in S.1....means that they're going to keep going back to that well to set up their stories, which is just lazy.
Honorable mention goes to letting their peripheral characters (Claire's bio-mom, Invisible ex-company man, Parkman's adopted daughter, 1-and-done Interweb lady who's now on "Castle", etc.) fall by the wayside, and their failure to really develop any fresh characters outside of the main cast to replace them.

They added too much Time Travel and made too many plot holes. I still watch just for the powers and Sylar and because not a whole lot of good tv is out there. I personally think Rebel is Micah and Molly, it makes sense when you think about how they locate people then use machines to talk to them. I will probably watch this show till it gets canceled but it will never be as good as season 1. I own it on dvd and I will only loan it out with a disclaimer saying you are going to want to watch more, dont get your hopes up.

My issue with it, it's NOT his power. He just suddenly has it, no real reason for it.
Also, I'd say if I was writing for the show, it's a great way to hook an audience. Introduce an image of something that will happen, the audience forms their own ideas and then you can slam them later with the reveal and how the picture, by itself, gives the wrong impression. Though, after 2 seasons of that, it is getting old. Basically now, when he draws something, unlike Season 1 where I'd go "What could that mean?!?!", I'm just like "Oh, who cares, it's not what I think it is"

Not to mention that Irish chick Peter just left in that future that he later goes on to help prevent (BY SIMPLY CATCHING A VIAL OF OUCH-VIRUS NO LESS - Which effectively made all of season 2 pointless).
I initially thought this rebel person was gonna be Wireless from the first season but I would much much rather have it be Micha and then just have take over the world out of frustration and hatred and just let this season be the end of it.
Also: Future seers and time travel. Also, them not really having any actual rules for time travel. Also, Sylar pretending to be a good cop with Noah and Sylar finding his SUPER PRECIOUS TOY CAR and Sylar not killing that ANNOYING HUMAN MICROWAVE and Sylar...

Didn't he get the power FROM African Isaac when he killed him?
That's probably how they justify it, but it didn't seem as though he tapped into it the way Mr. African Isaac did. (....did he have an actual name BTW?)
The bottom line is that suggesting what could happen in the future is a nice touch....but it loses its effectiveness when half the cast (Isaac, African Isaac, Peter, Papa Petrelli, Sylar, Parkman, Hiro) have done it.
