They said fall 08 it's spring 09. Is Martin Sargent ever gonna do this? I loved Internet Superstar but since it's gone I need something to fill the void. None of the other shows fill the void. The Digg Reel comes close but its no Web Drifter. Please find Martin Sargent and bring him back. If the show isn't gonna return then don't put it in current show category.

The sarge has a new gig now. This week in Fun. look for it on itunes, twit.tv, or other podcast catcher. Added bonus: Sarah Lane.

Web Drifter is an expensive show mostly because of the traveling. I vaguely remember Martin saying he pitched it to the Travel Channel, but no dice. It's a perfect idea and fantastic show, but needs to find the advertising/funding to support it.
I can't even begin to imagine the characters that are out there now since the last episode of Web Drifter. It'd be so entertaining to watch!

A few weeks ago Martin and leo were talking and leo was thinking of putting up the money for the budget for the show. Nothing is close to confirmed at all or if it will ever happen. But they were talkin about it after TWiF his new show with sarah lane.

I thought he had a bunch of footage already, and was just waiting for the fall to release it?

It's too bad Martin couldn't find a larger audience for his shows. On a recent TWiF following losing out on the wine job, he remarked about his previous on-air persona biting him in the ass on trying to land a new job. Martin really needs to reinvent himself to lose the Unscrewed/Infected/Web Drifter stain on his career.

My opinion is that he should do a 180º turn and find a radio show, informercial, or a non-comedic talk show to give TV producers a different take on his abilities.

But that wouldn't be the Sarge we all know an love. I think he should remain independent, and make a living that way. He does have a loyal and dedicated audience.

I agree, but several thousand fans on the internet isn't gonna get him the attention he needs to get a company to give him free reign on his own show. But he can't "mellow it out" or it wouldn't be the Sarge we love. And the Sarge that Sarge shouldn't, and most probably doesn't want to change.

He needs to find an audience that hasn't found him yet. Kinda the Jackass, Stern, dare I say, JV fans, that like the type of humor that martin exhibits, yet does drastically different. (he's kinda "nicer" than them).

My previous comment is regarding the best thing for Martin and his career. If, as Marty claims, his Unscrewed/Rev3 demeanor is a character, he needs to leave that character behind. He obviously doesn't have the audience for it right now. TV producers are looking to push something else, and Marty is talented enough to make the switch. He can always try and bring it back in the future.

what he needs to do is start blogging again. that was the most entertaining blog ever.

Well, a lot of people got angry when Internet Superstar got canned. That thing alone proves he does have an audience.

Maybe he isn't what Rev3 is looking for, but I think he'll be successful somewhere else. Leaving Infected/Unscrewed and so on behind honestly would upset the audience and upset himself, as he honestly wouldn't be our beloved Sargent. Sometimes to achieve a high point, we must go through many low ones and never giving up - that's been true for my life.

He's being successful enough on TWiF, and I think we'll see an Infected-like podcast down the road (he mentioned he'd be doing a secret "taping" on the latest TWiF, go back and listen to it, it's near the end). Even if that ends up not being his full-time job for a while, who cares, but we can't just let Sargent "cancel himself", and honestly I don't think he'll ever do it.

Bring back marty.

Marty can't survive just doing TWiF, especially since it really isn't making much money at this point. And although people keep bringing up all these angry people over his shows being canceled, they obviously weren't enough to keep Infected & Internet Superstar from being canned on a network dedicated to niche programming. So what is a workable solution? Continuing to push ideas that various show producers refuse to entertain is getting the man nowhere. The Murphy-Goode gig would have been an ideal opportunity. And even with a built-in following to offer to Murphy-Goode, his persona killed any chance he had of being a finalist. It's pretty obvious that what made him popular on TTV/Rev3 is killing his career.

Marty has to reinvent himself because no one is buying his "character" as he called it. The man still needs to pay his bills. And if that means doing something slightly different to stay in media, that would be better than nothing.

If he really needed, he could get some other job and keep doing Infected/TWiF as a hobby. I mean, look at Sarah: she works at Current and does TWiF as well.

Didn't Martin have a consulting job here at Rev3? I don't know how that ended, but I heard the rumor he had been given some kind of role here.

That's the problem, isn't it? He can't get a job doing what he wants. Sarah has a job because, in part, Sarah doesn't have the baggage Marty has. He seems to want to stay in the public eye, and he'll need to appeal to producers to make that happen. That means he needs a new schtick to present to producers. If his Infected persona is a poison pill, then he should drop the character for now.

My point is he could try to conciliate his main and boring job with Infected as a hobby.

Maybe, but people who want to stay in broadcasting need to stay in the spotlight and his "character" will always block him from better opportunity if he continues with it. A regular non-media job plus continuing a show like Infected will permanently kill future offerings.

It's now been about 16 months since Web Drifter was last shown. If you guys are no longer doing it, then it's not the end of the world. But it would be nice to have some recognition that it's being filmed, when we can expect it, if Martin is back, etc. *or* it's been axed so we can stop wasting ours and Revision3's time.

See the thread called Season 2 is never coming. (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28162)

Anyway, Martin has moved onto TWiT. He now co-hosts This Week in Fun (http://twit.tv/twif) with Sarah Lane.

Yeah, I've seen the thread - but the forum still hasn't been moved... so we can't take that as a cancellation or confirmation it's not coming.... even though I think it is cancelled.

Martin is working at an ad agency now apparently. He has hinted many times he might start Infected again, but for now it's up in the air.
