Pretty good follow-up to the live show. They seemed energized and refreshed with Gary V co-hosting, though his soundboard did get a bit annoying. They should have more guest spots on the show to keep things interesting and fresh.

Looking forward to hearing Prager on next week's episode talk with the guys about his incident (even though it's 3 weeks later or something like that). Surprised they didn't mention it before.

Look, Gary has a different style than most diggnation viewers are accustomed to and it does feel a little out of place compared to Alex and Kevin, but that doesn't mean you have to rail on him.

Gary is very accomplished in what he does and deserves the respect of any diggnation guest. If we want them to continue having guests on the show, I think we (as a community) should be more open minded.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude but Gary Vee was very obnoxious, abrasive, and irritating. He kept interrupting at awkward times with his soundboard, the shouting about the HTTP thing was very grating and so many other mental head slap moments, felt like the addition of the little brother of a friend that they feel obligated to bring but messes up the group dynamic.

Despite being a noob to the Community Forums, I really felt I had to express how annoying I found Gary to be. I think any future episodes that have him co-host, I'll miss. I just found him to be loud, obnoxious, discourteous, unfunny and terrible at pouring a proper beer - only to be pompous about its taste afterwards. Facepalm.

Regardless, good episode, loved the backdrop and the 'bacon' moment.

Thanks for the good work guys. Please do find less alpha-male typo co-hosts in future though! I do want to keep watching ^_^

Please do not let Gary host on Diggnation again. I watch every single week. I really like the vibe Alex and Kevin have on the show. Gary has a totally different personality and does not fit into this show.

He started annoying me 5 min into the show, he said so much yet he said absolutely nothing.

- Tried to be funny, but was not.

I have to agree with most people on here. This was the first Diggnation episode that I couldn't finish. Gary was very annoying.

I think, for the most part, people who don't know who Gary is seem to not like him, at least at first. He's VERY high energy and very passionate. I watch WineLibraryTV occasionally and I watch when he gets on Ustream pretty regularly. The only thing I found annoying about Gary, and it wasn't that big of a deal, was the HTTP thing at the end. I think a lot of you guys just need to GET OVER IT. He's not a douchebag, he's just VERY VERY enthusiastic.

Personally, I fucking loved this episode. One of the funniest in a while. I watched it at about 7:30 this morning and I was laughing loud, and hard, enough that I was worried I was going to wake my roommates. I'd love to see Gary on the show again, but maybe for the sake of the vocal minority you could ask him to calm down a bit. Or you could just ignore them.

Part of his opening includes..."...The internets' most Passionate Wine program." That is his gig. He has used it to his advantage on many shows. Conan, Ellen D, Today Show...etc.
I am a fan and have never tried anything he talks about. I just don't drink wine.

BTW, do you remember that Gary was on Diggnation before? That is how I was introduced to WLTV. He was not so much a guest, but just there. Shown about as much as Prager and Glenn. I watch WLTV for what is being complained about.

OK, I will punch my own opinion in the face and say that I think he was a lil' drunk. That happens. I understand the points of complaint, but just don't agree.

For insight on why I respect this guy, check out his FOWA '08 speech. I watch that all the time for motivation and to have sack enough to invest in my future stuff. That is Garys' skill, with out the inebriation.

Anyway, funny show for me, apparently.

It had to be an upstate NY'ker to see that most complaints were new to the boards. We are the smart ones up here.

I love Diggnation, it inspired me to make my own cast, but these guys are just calling it in now, and bringing a drunk Gary in when they were sober didn't help.

Just finished watching and I've got to say I thought it was good. Yeah it's not like the old episodes but shows evolve and for what this was, it was good. Sound was awful though, really needs addressing. But otherwise it seemed like they actually wanted to do the show this week which is a change from recent episodes.

Also (and this isn't because Gary's just posted above) but cut him some slack guys. Yeah the loud, pumped up energy isn't to everyone's taste but he was funny and as I could see from watching is a fan of show. Like I said above, Gary, you are way cool in your element. This could have been it. When I saw the title of the show I was psyched to see you on, cause Kevin was so cool on your show.

But your enthusiasm caught up with you this time. It fits your shows when you are in charge, but just didn't work this time. No big deal.

Been watching this show for a few months now and every episode has been a can't miss. But, this one was unwatchable. Lack of attention span across the board. Gary was too much for the relaxed joking around that I am used to from Alex and Kevin. However, any person that comes on to a forum right in the middle of being bashed shows great character. And, I might check out Wine Library TV from this alone.

In the end, Gary's personality does not seem to be a good fit for the Diggnation setting. The Jimmy Fallon episode was great, in that, Jimmy did not try to overtake the show and tried to just co-exist with Alex and Kevin.

I have a production problem with the show. Apparently, turning Gary's mic on was an option, not a requirement. At the start of the episode, his audio sounded like it was coming over another person's mic. Not sure who is in charge of that, but someone was asleep at the wheel.

As for people bitching about Gary, the host(s) of the show are suppose to keep the show on track. One of the problems with internet shows is they more often than not lack professionalism. I think Gary's energy can be trying to put up with and I can only handle his exuberance in small doses. That said, Alex and Kevin let their excitement with having their friend cohost interfere with their job.

Aww dude, I'm feeling a bit sorry for ya, but only cause I know you aren't that way all the time. Enthusiastic, yeah, over the top, yeah. But a lot of the Diggnation fans are seeing you for the first time on this episode, so they didn't know what you are about in general. Even though you were part of Rev3 for a while.

They should check out the Wine Library episode with Kevin (http://tv.winelibrary.com/2009/03/18/digg-this-kevin-rose-from-diggcom-visits-wine-library-tv-episode-645/). That should show them how you and he really interact. You guys are buds and I hope this episode of diggnation doesn't mess that up.

dude, it's not childish. It is simply stating my opinion. That is why the forums are here. I saw Gary on the last episode he was on diggnation. He did fine then. This episode was just a little bit too much. If he can tone it down a bit and reciprocate on the co-hose etiquette, then he will definitely be a welcomed guest in the future by diggnation fans. This time around, not so good. This is the typical MALE way of dealing with things, if we don't like something, we dog on it. You have to agree that 97% of the fans of this show is a sausage fest anyway. It's fine, Gary seems to be taking very well anyway, he knows he did wrong, and will do better the next time.

I've been a viewer since episode one, and I agree with previous posters that this was one of the worst episodes to date. So bad that I couldn't finish it. Had to delete those bits off my hard drive before they caused permanent damage.

1: This is not a knock against Gary ... I don't know they guy, so I can't really judge him personally, but Gary + Alex + Kevin just plain didn't work. Gary seemed to have a difficult time being part of a "team" while on camera. I've never seen Gary's podcast, so I have no idea if he has guests/co-hosts, or if he's a one-man show. Going by just what I saw in this Diggnation episode, he appears to be the type of personality that functions best when he's not trying to share the spotlight with others, and just be allowed to do his own thing in a solo environment.

2: Gary's mic appeared to be either broken or turned off, at least for the portion of the show I could sit through.

3: Could Hippie (or whoever is in charge of this) PLEASE remind people in the room to silence their cel phones and IM clients from making noise for the duration of the show? I know most of these guys are addicted to Twitter, etc, to the point it clouds their judgment from calling 911 during a home invasion, but it makes for a really crappy show to constantly hear those noises.

4: While Kevin and Alex were drinking beer this episode, I have noticed that in recent episodes, they seemed to be laying off. The show is more enjoyable after they both have a few pops in them. I'm not saying they should be hammered, but I personally think their chemistry and comments shine after they've loosened up with a little al-ke-hol.

5: While the topics weren't necessarily bad, I really wish they would get back to including more tech topics. Alex and Kevin are geeks, as am I. Talk about what you know.

I woudn't worry that much Gary that some people didn't like you on diggnation. Its basically tv some people will like it some people wont. Here is the bottom line for me, I was too much ..I just couldn't control myself because I was fired up and honored to be on the show, was having a blast at SXSW with the guys and Just didn't do a good enough job shutting up, it happens to me from time to time and I let it get away, I think the nation should come out in droves because they love this show and should and I came in this week and screwed up for some of them something that they really enjoy! Trust me as a guy who has pumped out 650 shows for his fan base I am FAR more upset that i blew it for them then the BEATING I am taking, I am a big boy and this was a big stage with a loyal KICK ASS fan base and I didn't do a good enough job with adding to it, I got pumped and hurt it, for that I will always be sorry because this show is weekly and now u guys have to wait with a show u didnt like, at least with Wine Library TV I am daily and if I blew it i can come back the next day and crush it ...I am really sorry for those who I let down and am so thankful for the tons of peeps that have tweeted or emailed me nice words and I promise that if I ever get the chance to meet you and you hated it I will apologize to your face and buy you a drink of your choice...or 2 :) Stay well and happy!

He acted like a belligerent drunk, picking fights with everyone like he was the man, when he himself sounded like an idiot.

Diggnation is falling a bit off the path recently, since they moved the sponsers to the middle, The shows have been getting shorter and the episodes weaker. I think the reason the forum (Me included) have been flaming Gary so much is that wasn't a good episode, As Gary himself said, we only get Diggnation weekly and now have to wait another week for a show which is a little less sub-standard.
I remain a loyal fan of diggnation since episode One, But I WISH they would stop changing it up so much, Two drunk guys sitting on a couch ranting about zombie dogs etc. was some of the best webcasts/TV I have ever seen.

I don't blame Gary, yeah he was poor on the show, but to be honest, as Bobv said, it was a poor episode to begin with.

Here's hoping it gets better.

This, seriously I didn't think this show was any worse than the other recent (non live) shows but the constant Twhirl noise really grated on me, I get it's a small thing but it's been happening on every fucking show for a while now. They clearly notice it too as there's always a slight pause when it happens, is it really so hard to turn it off for a half hour/45 mins?

Just to echo the sentiment of others, the show can still be good, I mean I went to the last live show in London and it was fucking amazing, just hysterical, even the latest live shows have suffered a bit, I get that ever episode can't be as awesome of that but it can at least be good and professional.

Well, I felt the opposite of what the guy you quoted said. I thought you were great and brought a good energy to the show. Remember that people who feel negatively about something feel a greater need to communicate that fact than people who feel positively or neutral about it. I wouldn't be so quick to judge your appearance a failure. If 100 people loved your appearance and 10 hated it, you'll hear from 3 of the ten and 2 of the 100. Watching this later than everyone else, I found that every possible issue I could have brought up, has been. Point A7 was well put, poorly contested by point D2, point E14 (sub section delta) was well argued, X3 was wide of the mark, and Mr Vaynerchuk came back with some heart warming (and polite) replies too. So, in summary ....I think it's all sorted out.

I dont get the hate , I loved this episode. The http thing was funny they always make such a point of the "www.". Also when Gary bought up Pragers visitor I was like thank god because i've wanted to hear about it for some time.

And then at the end surely he redeemed himself with that 5k offer Kevin was totally pwnd I laughed out load and I aint done that for some time. For what its worth you made a fan out of me I already checked out wine libary tv it rocks I didnt know wine could be so cool lol.

There are two things at play here.

#1. Haters are much more vocal than content people.

#2. Gary was nice enough to personally respond to a lot of the haters in this thread. There are a lot of lonely people on the internet who yearn for attention. They saw a sure fire way to get personal attention from an Internet celebrity and they jumped on the opportunity. I'm not saying that everyone who commented negatively did it for this reason, but you can be very certain that many did. It is the way of the Internet. Hungry trolls like to be fed and will come out of the woodwork when they smell an easy meal.

I actually took the time to watch a few of episodes of Wine Library, then go back to watch this episode of diggnation, and I will admit once I got a feel for his personality (which is one I'm not very used to) he came off far more enjoyable, and I recommend anyone who feels he was a nuisance to do the same.

I admit he wasn't what I am used to, and it was slightly annoying (at times not the entire show I really liked some things he said), however if you're going to simply sit here and bash him, especially after he's personally apologizing for coming off as such, you're just very immature.

I'm not sorry for finding him off of the shows chemistry, but I will apologize for judging too quickly.

Furthermore you can't please everyone, that's impossible, so don't be down that a few people didn't enjoy you, I feel majority people probably did enjoy you.

Not a fan of this particular episode. No offense Gary, as I believe you are probably a very nice person. But as a stand alone episode, I did not like watching Gary on the show. He came across as quite obnoxious, and I disliked how he constantly interrupted Kevin and Alex.

That said, I'm stating my opinion based on this particular episode only. As already mentioned, I'm sure Gary is very nice and maybe was just nervous or something. It happens to everyone! If there is a next time with Gary on the show, please tone it down a bit. Otherwise, love you man! :D

First I'll start off by saying, I wasn't a fan of gary on the show. I wouldn't go so far as to say he ruined it, but it could have been better without him...

Now, for everyone who says that we should give Gary a chance. Or that that is his personality, etc. etc. STFU. Diggnation is not Gary's shows. That generally means that he shouldn't do the same stuff he does on his show, unless they asked him to (like the "wine" review of the beer.)

That said, I will say I don't blame Gary. And Gary, if you read this, please understand it's not your fault (unless of course Rev3 told you before the show to be calm and you didn't) Honestly, it seems more like a bad decision from Kevin, Alex, Prager, Hippie, etc. whoever decided it would be a good idea to put Gary on the show. IMO, Gary doesn't fit well with Diggnation, and probably shouldn't have been on. Whoever decided he should have, needs to take a good look at Diggnation and decide what they really think about it.

So I watched this episode Wed night, and I had opinions about it right off the bat. But, I haven't come online, for more than a few mins, in a couple days (partying in Vegas)... So when I finally get home and catch up on all my forums, I find this thread... These opinions are in no way influenced by this thread...

1) I thought it was a funny episode
2) Gary V. was obnoxious BUT also added a couple laughs as well
3) I disliked the interrupting (but understand how it happened... just filmed a 3 man episode with 2 friends who are not regular hosts on the show, and it is a potential disaster.)
4) Disliked the messenger sounds, from twhirl I guess???
5) I felt like Gary wasn't interacting well and I was sad because normally I think he is very witty and generally a nice guy. I don't particularly like wine but watch WLTV from time to time and have loved some of his 'inspirational' posts...

To everyone criticizing, cut him some slack everyone has their off days... This episode might have been overall bad but it had it's good moments too

I came on here and read his comments and I have a lot more respect for him. I decided to watch the newest episode of Wine Library TV and it's pretty enjoyable. He's pretty different on his show. That being said I probably won't watch it much but that's only because I'm not really a wine kind of guy. But if you're into that kind of stuff check it out.

I've seen an episode of Garys show and he's not so bad there but the sound clips and interrupting Alex and Kevin all the time was annoying as hell. Honestly I'd rather watch this episode than one of the live episodes where the sound is distorted, more time is spent watching people drink, and nothing ever stays on track.

Did the show have its flaws, sure (I miss the days when the shows were really long, chock full of news, and actually *informative*), but it also was full of great moments of humour.

Here is the bottom line for me, I was too much ..I just couldn't control myself because I was fired up and honored to be on the show, was having a blast at SXSW with the guys and Just didn't do a good enough job shutting up, it happens to me from time to time and I let it get away, I think the nation should come out in droves because they love this show and should and I came in this week and screwed up for some of them something that they really enjoy! Trust me as a guy who has pumped out 650 shows for his fan base I am FAR more upset that i blew it for them then the BEATING I am taking, I am a big boy and this was a big stage with a loyal KICK ASS fan base and I didn't do a good enough job with adding to it, I got pumped and hurt it, for that I will always be sorry because this show is weekly and now u guys have to wait with a show u didnt like, at least with Wine Library TV I am daily and if I blew it i can come back the next day and crush it ...I am really sorry for those who I let down and am so thankful for the tons of peeps that have tweeted or emailed me nice words and I promise that if I ever get the chance to meet you and you hated it I will apologize to your face and buy you a drink of your choice...or 2 :) Stay well and happy!

He was on the loud side at times but if you have ever watched his show, you would realize that that is his personality and I think we all know how hard it can be (especially when being taped) to change who you are and who you have gotten used to being for over 600 episodes (WineLibraryTV). And while I don't want to disregard the opinions of others because obviously other people weren't happy with Gary V., I loved him on the show. His energy his inspiring and entertaining, his knowledge is wide and he seems like an all around good guy. Would I want him everyday on the show with Kevin and Alex? Probably not. (Maybe though, I honestly enjoyed it).
