Anyone bought in this year?
Do you think the apps are worth it?

Other than BoinxTV I have no interest in the apps this year.

PS, downloaded the free just to visit "eventbox" app, and it refused to launch. Does it work for you?

BoinxTV has me interested, as does the organisation thingy as well ... but thats about it. I might end up purchasing later though.

I got it. I didn't have World of Goo and SousChef popping up was a curious thing as I'd been on the lookout for something to archive recipes on the kitchen iMac - and I think it's pretty good. Wiretap Studio is something I've seen references to but didn't see the need for, but would probably be a nice to have.

It's the same story this year - MacHeist had a couple of interesting apps, but nothing critical - I'm still using Pixelmator from last year, SnapZ Pro gets a very, very occasional look in, and Speed Download seems to work and doesn't seem to do any harm so I've kept it running on my main Pro.

MacUpdate Promo was a lot more useful - using MenuCalendarClock religiously, friend I gave one my Crapbook Airs to is finding Storymill useful, DVDRemaster Pro works very well, and I use Sound Studio and the MU copy of Parallels (although I'm awash in Parallels and Fusion licenses) is installed somewhere.

If this doesn't interest you, wait for that.

I don't know WireTap Studio, but I have used WireTap Pro. I tried it as a free app and ended up paying the license fee because I liked it.

It was a useful sound editing tool. I don't have a lot of uses for it, but I did use it to chop up mp3's to make my own ringtones for my phone.

What it does that's (fairly) unique (at least on the Mac) is that you can record what you hear. i.e. you can patch Wiretap into specific apps - Safari, Firefox, etc and record what they're playing.

MacHeist amazes me. So free apps are given out before the bundle is released and then the bundle costs money? But they are very cheap relative to buying each app separately? Does anyone know if you can purchase previous bundles still?
