Yeah, not exactly thrilled by this as we've waited so long for it. Still, I'm glad it's here and I'll make use of it as soon as someone hacks the new system update so I don't have to install it direct from Nintendo.

best part is it now allows up to 32GB SD cards.:D

With the great 3rd party lineup this year and now this,it's redeeming itself from last year..sweet!

Copying games from the Wii internal memory to an SD card was unbearably slow, last I tried it.

Have you guys tried the new firmware out yet? I'm curious to know how it works, if there's any waiting time, etc.

I'd just try it myself, but my Wii is in its box, in the corner of a storage locker.

The update takes about 5 min for me but then loading the SD channel menu took a few seconds and moving(yes I said moving not copying) big files like World of Goo and Lost winds to the SD card took maybe 5-10 seconds.

Not too bad but not instant.

Just tried launching games from the SD card and glad to say yes you can.

OK, I wasn't clear what I was asking. Is there any wait times when launching a game from the SD card?

The first time out of Lost winds World of goo and DK3 it took about a few seconds but any time after that it's instant load up so I guess like a mini install but since you have a PS3 you should be used to stuff like that.

Hah, true. I'm also used to having too many GOOD games to play, that I don't have time to finish them all. Maybe some day you'll know that feeling. :)
