I'm reminded of the last time Nintendo insulted my intelligence, which I believe was E3 2008.

Agreed. Nintendo has done nothing but underwhelm me for a while now. Even their new storage solution. It's similar to everyone applauding and hyping up the "Copy and Paste" feature on the new iPhone OS. They should have had that storage solution from the start, just as iPhone should have had "Copy and Paste".
I think "A Boy and his Blob" is the only Wii game, off the top of my head, that I'm looking forward to.
Now, back to MadWorld...

Nintendo... No! Just...no...
They need to step up their game before people notice that the Wii really is just a novelty, and they stop buying this crap. I mean, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Music; is there any game that starts with the word "Wii" that isn't terrible? I get that they're going for the casual gamers, but come on! Even they must see that this "Rock 'n Roll Climber" is just stupid, right?
Though I will say, Madworld is awesome.

My instant reaction was, wow Nintendo you really have dropped the ball. Then I found out it was a WiiWare game and my reaction became, oh ok then, but WTF, no first party retail game announcements for Wii?
I know it's GDC and not E3, but not a single major Wii game announcement or hint of one?

Considering it was Nintendo's year for GDC keynote, I was also hoping for something good, akin to Sony's last GDC where they unleashed LBP.
However, I am happy about the SD firmware update. Now I may resume caring about the weekly VC updates, as I have the room for more than a small handful of titles.
When I heard "new Zelda game" in my RSS feeds, I clicked and was immediately disappointed that it was another DS game, Links on a Train. Thought it was a real Wii Zelda for once... Oh well.

I'm only interested in the 3rd party games this year so far as many look very good.
All the Wii named games can kiss my ass.
And I hated the last Zelda DS game so screw this new one also.

I'm going to argue that Wii Sports is, in fact, not terrible. Nor is the tank game in Wii Play.
But I will not deny the amount of awful games for Wii. If I was ever going to be a martyr, I would certainly die in the hopes that the world never has to see another Redneck Jamboree.

It hurt to even get that link.

^^
All the more reason to support games like No more heroes(and it's sequel),The Conduit,Madworld,Klonoa, cursed mountain,Muramusa the demon blade,de blob(and it's upcoming sequel) Kizuna, Arc of Fantasia,Broken Sword and such a huge list I can't type it all.
To reduce the shovelware.
Screw these stupid games,I will just support more games that this year many serious effort games are putting out and so far this year many already released that are good to great with more to come and reminds me why I bought this system.
I know I am in the minority right now but I always had the softspot for things as the underdog and niche even when not in the popular vote.
Nintendo and shovelware can go to hell right now until I see real effort. 2009 from many 3rd party developers indy or est seems to be trying and those I will support.
And starting this year on a couple good notes without mario I see the tide to slowy change and Co-op proves to me that people are going to be feeding that little box more and more.
Nintendo still has E3 coming up and I am not holding any high standards 1st party but hope to be surprised in a good way..doubt I will.
However if the high promise of 2009 ends up not living up..then I quit and go slap down cash for that 360 and PS3 (right now I have steam as my alt gaming so I am insured just in case I have a dry point for the moment)

Seriously Nintendo...I know people make jokes about things like how they're waiting for that new Kid Icarus game and whatnot...
But why the hell isn't there a Starfox game on the Wii yet?
Seriously.

Seriously.
The original Starfox guy (D Cuthbert) and Miyamoto don't see eye to eye on how the game should work. Evidently.
He wants to make another pure flight game; but Miyamoto wants to keep doing the out-of-the-cockpit games like adventure.

This has future Broken Pixels (http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3172944) entry written all over it. I lol'd over the commentary the CO-OP guys had when they discussed it on the GDC show.
