If you guys are sponsored by Zune, why do you not have a video format that will sync directly onto the Zune without requiring conversion?

I would expect the "Small WMV" version to work. But for some reason, that version is at a resolution of 340x240 instead of 320x240. That extra 20 pixels of width forces it to go through a conversion step, which makes it take a really long time to sync.

Is that intentional, or did you mean it to be 320x240?

Thanks...

It's 320x240 but the bit rate is too high or the sampling rate is too high, but it converts fine within Zune software

Did they ever say they were sponsored by it? I didn't hear that.

It is also in their sponsors at the beginning of the videocast episode #75.

Actually they're not 320x240. Check the properties for any of the Small WMV videos. They're 340x240.

At least they were for all the episodes I checked, which were numbers 75, 74, and 72.

The video bit rate is 400 kbps, which would be fine (the max is 1500 kbps).

-- Also, you can tell they're not 320x240 because when they play on the Zune, there's just a tiny bit of letterboxing around the video (maybe 3-4 pixels or so on the top and bottom).

I assume they're meant to be 320x240 and there's just a typo somewhere in the encoding process or something. The Xvid Small videos are 320x240.

the audio sampling rate is too high 48000 instead of 41000

well I must of been out of it for that one.

No, 48000 works for the audio sampling rate. I've been using 48000 for ripped DVDs and they're fine.

Why would you think it's anything other than the resolution, when you can clearly see it's 340x240?
