So, this is something I've been working on for the past few hours, from start to near enough finish where I am now.

The website is http://TinyTi.me - it's a mix between TinyURL, an events website and Google Maps.

Basically you add your event, give it a description and time + date and submit it, it then gives you a short URL like http://tinyti.me/792432 which you can easily tweet and share other ways.

Then on the short URL's page you have a google map with all of the major time zones represented as clocks - if you click on then it shows what time the event will occur in that zone.

The site address, again is http://tinyti.me

What do people think, is this something to further develop and does anybody have any further ideas?

I'm working on adding a star to the map for the city the event is held in (if applicable)

I think this is a really cool idea. I think it could really use the star functionality and possibly a space to describe the event or leave a message. Little things like this have really caught on as Twitter gets more and more popular.

There's already a description/comment area on the left of the map :)

I also think this is a pretty cool idea. Definitely develop it some more. Maybe work on the site design to make it more "Twitter-esque" with big bubbly fonts, etc. It would certainly be a great way to let people know about events.

For a suggestion, it might be cool to have a search feature that someone could search for their city or region and find events going on that are open to the public. They could find out about concerts, art exhibits, charity events, etc. A great way to add a community aspect to it I think.

Looks great so far though!

Great idea, making a fake one to test it...

liveblog:

Hmm, would rather have am/pm instead of military time. I always gotta do the math.

Would rather have a calendar instead of or in addition to drop down lists for dates. Hate scrolling a bunch of numbers, and have to look at a calendar anyway to see what day a date falls on. (is next saturday the 19th or the 20th?) Also, recurring would be nice. (livestream of bbliveshow every tuesday at 9pm Austin TX time)

Got an error, "date/time in the past, silly" (Todays date should always be the default.)

(and my data was lost and had to start over again...)

And data was lost again, cause I missed putting in the event name.

Also, would rather click a time zone map than try to scroll a list of a few cities that may or may not be in my timezone. (you'd think anchorage and Fairbanks, alaska are in the same TZ, but they aint.)

Ok. having to scroll a bit to see the "make ti.me url" is needless, and "undiscoverable."

Results page is nice, but in both I'd prefer clicking a map with a timezone (striped) map, if that's possible with google.

(my result tweet I didn't tweet cause it's just a test) http://tinyti.me/759356

Only reason I'm saying so much Is cause i think this is a genius idea, one I would use quite often.
