The top questions submitted and voted on by the Digg community are: 1. Your business model still primarily involves selling music either digitally or physically. Why haven't you embraced advertising as a business model? (+710 diggs, submitted by Kethinov) 2. What is the most embarrassing song...

That was a great interview. I think everyone should learn from his respect towards the freedom of religion of his band members. Especially considering its regularly not expressed on digg (anons).

One more thing. Everyone has got to love the programming love from Trent. That made my day.

Only a matter of time that digg dialogg would come to the rev3 line-up. In fact I'm surprised it didnt come sooner... I wonder if they are going to make it a more regular thing?

What? No outtakes of Kevin freaking out, bowing before Trent? It seemed like a given to me...

Great interview, first time I've really heard Reznor's views, sounds incredibly smart, thoughtful. Walks that fine line oh so masterfully on most of the given subjects.

cazssiew: Hmm, i thought he would have known the difference between the Lights in the Sky footage and the Ghosts videos, but.... Kevin is too busy making dollars :) but.. respect!

What I found interesting is it hasn't been mentioned anywhere on the Rev3 Blog and it doesn't show up in the schedule. Why's that?

It won't show up on the schedule because it isn't a scheduled show, the first Dialogg was in August last year. They just pop up now and again.

Thoroughly enjoyed that whole episode. Thought it was pretty great that Trent mentioned WiiWare before XBL Arcade. Also, did anyone else notice that music doohickey over Kevin's right shoulder called the "Butt Probe"? Just sayin'.

Thank you, Kevin for such a great interview. I know you are a huge fan of Trent and NIN and keeping yourself together for that was probably tough, at least starting out.

Trent never stops amazing me. He is so straight forward, down to earth, and he gets it. He understands what is real and is working to embrace technology as it is with all of its benefits and flaws. He spoke of some great ideas and people should listen to him. He is doing things right and changing the industry as he does them. I will remain a fan of NIN forever.

Thanks again. This was a great show!

I was kinda curious as to what something called the "Butt Probe" would do and I was afraid to Google it. Then I did:

I like NIN and Trent Reznor, wouldn't call myself their biggest fan, by any means... But this interview has given me great respect for this man and his message. Very few people in the industry have any idea what the consumer really wants and I applaud him for recognizing it. He is right on about a lot of the topics he brought up. And right about distributing their media around will generate ticket sales. Funny how I found NIN... I first started listening to NIN a long time ago because, they were the favorite band of a girl I was actively pursuing. So I bought us tickets to go to their next show. Ever since then I have been an "average listener" ...this interview I think just changed that for me.

...I understand the "Distribute free = ticket/merch sales" business model wouldn't work for everyone. But, there are a lot of Big Bands out there, that have enough money/success, that could do it, but don't.

Thanks! Excellent interview.
As we used to say "Bo knows the recording industry." I learn a lot listening to him. That brotha is smart and humble, and that's why his music stays so fresh.

He shed a lot of light on the matter for up-and-comers, very cool!
I'm excited to see what happens with the camera policy for the concerts...either way I'm gonna be there humming "Finally." That's the jam!

Great interview with a great man. He really gets his audience, and knows what he's doing. I hope other artists can follow his lead.

Possibly my favourite thing on the internet. Digg Dialogg gets better and better every time. Great concept, natural feeling evolution of the digg concept.

Consider my positive feedback and desire for more registered.

I'm confused. Why is this episode 4 when there aren't any other episodes? It's not even listed in the schedule, or anything. Just appeared out of no where.

Try taking a look at post #3 and #12 in this thread...

did you even read the thread? it's not even a long thread...

my favorite part was kevin rose smiling all throughout the interview. he has a total man-crush.

...then again, i acted the same way when i met trent. except as just a fan with no reach whatsoever, he still took the time (and put his car in park, long story...) to sign autographs & have a small conversation with a buddy & i. he's a really grounded, awesome guy. visionaire comes to mind, as well :)

great interview. great questions.

krose moderated it very well.

thanks!

Great interview. I enjoyed the points of view given. Also for the Kevin Rose and Trent Reznor for the good communication. Sorry, but when I see MOST interviews, it consists of an awkward balance between Questions and Answers.
Keep up the good work ;-)

Hell, I remember 20 or 30 episodes ago they were talking about who they wanted on the Diggnation couch and Trent's name came up. This has been a long-time dream for Kevin. (nerdgasm)
