Kevin and Dan seem to have been friends for a long time. A lot of the rest... Alex, Hahn, Jessica, came from working at TechTV together.

Well ya see when a Popular cable channel is destroyed by an a-hole with a little power the people who were a part of that glorious channel rise up and create a site such as Rev3 to give a big F U to that a-hole. (Also they drink a few beers in the process)

It's not perfect, and has a few innaccuracies (such as why we named it Revision3), but it's got the general idea:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revision3_Corporation

Mostly it's because Kevin kept feeling frusrated at G4 with the television format and the restrictions imposed on that medium. I suggested to him that we start a new business that can pay him (and a few others) to create the content he wanted... and leverage this new revolution in on-demand media the Internet has brought us.

In April of 05 I put my own funds in to get it bootstrapped, flew to LA, and the rest is history.

What is it? Revision 0 was the television, Revision 1 was the niche cable channel, Revision 2 was timeshifting via DVR (tivo, etc) and now Revision 3 is television the way YOU want it?

Want me to put in for the change? :)
