On the day The Flash: Rebirth was released Geoff Johns sat down with Josh and talked about his work with DC Comics, including Green Lantern, JSA, 52, Action Comics and The Flash.

Superstar DC writer Geoff Johns is responsible for the reemergence of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern: Rebirth and the Sinestro Corps War, as well as legendary runs on The Flash and Justice Society of America. Currently, he's working on reinvigorating the world of Superman, as well as returning Barry Allen to the DC Universe with The Flash: Rebirth, in collaboration with Ethan Van Sciver. Soon, we'll see the release of Blackest Night, the much heralded Green Lantern event.
Johns did a Q&A panel at Jim Hanley's Universe to celebrate the release of The Flash: Rebirth, and he took questions from Josh, as well as the audience. He covers everything from his approach to creating comics, to how he got his start, to his time working as director Richard Donner's assistant.
Great show, does anybody know any information about the art on Adventure Comics? I haven't heard much about it but the AC questions in the show piqued my curiosity.
Was this the new legion book? I can't remember anymore, and I'm too lazy to go hunting.

Good interview. Geoff seems like a nice guy. I hate when people ask 'is this going to happen', or 'what is after ....'

It's happened at every panel I've ever been to. I sometimes wonder if people are sitting there listening to me talk to him him, and wondering, "I wonder when he's gonna ask him what's gonna happen next..."

Its has been asked at every panel I have attended as well. I just roll my eyes everytime. What would be hilarious is if one writer just handed out scripts when someone asks. Then just look at the disappointment when it is a horrible script. Then when the issues come out it is totally not what was handed out. Maybe I just have a fucked up sense of humor.

Well, it's only human, if you follow a book and anticipate its release every month to want to squeeze some nugget of information, however minuscule, out of the creator if you ever get a forum with them.
I don't think anyone's expecting a full rundown of the upcoming issue, but for some, getting little teasers about upcoming stories is half of what cons are about.

Just another reason why I question my humanity then. I really have no interest in hearing what's going to happen down the line and I certainly wouldn't waste an oppurtunity like that to try and squeeze plot points out of the author. Don't get me wrong I check out previews just like everyone else but that's more to check out the art and to kill time at work.

I stopped going to panels because the entirety of Q&As have become a series of questions answered with "You'll have to read the book."

I want to read the books as they're intended. I don't want to know what's going to happen ahead of time. Maybe if I could read the book itself ahead of time, but otherwise, you're just spoiling the story out of context.
But either way, they never answer those questions anyway.

I thought all the questions were great!.
Couple things I'm curious about that I'd love to know if Geoff has ever been asked before.
1. He seems to be stating that Flash and GL are his big 2. What about Superman and the great work he did on Action Comics? What is the long term plan for his involvement with the Superman Character.
2. The Green Lantern movie has been *ahem* green lit so to speak. What if any involvement will Geoff have with the character that he really has brought to the forefront for DC? (can you name a time in history where GL has had this kinda hype?)
thx for this interview, it was funny and interesting.
