All I am getting today is the Marvel Zombies 3 HC. Almost finished my transition to all trades.
I'm enjoying Battle for the Cowl but I'm still glad that it's only 3 issues so we can move on and get to the (hopefully) good stuff afterwards.

*Battle for the Cowl #2 was slated to appear today but was dropped for more better stories.*
Batman Confidential #28: This was a pretty good arc. I was hesitent to care about a lame 60's villain, but King Tut grew on me. Hopefully he gets to be used a lot more with the new status quo. Oh and gorgeous art as usual by Lopez/Nowlan.
Green Lantern #39: Had a really strong start. This Orange Lantern is very intriguing and although I am confused a bit on some of this aspects; I like his paranoid like state of mind. But the issue just sorta bored me by the time the end of this. I didnt care for Hal trying to find 'hope' nor do I like the Guardians all that much. A soild 3 on the ifanboy scale.
Marvel Zombies vol. 3: Must have. Better then Robert Kirkman's run
Frank Castle: Punisher MAX #69-Slow issue but still enjoyable. I really want this creative team to stay on this title. They've earned it.
Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk #4: (Pick of the Week) Great character study in the mind of Betty Ross and a great twist at the end. Plus this had a lot of humor and some of the best art in a Marvel book. For all of those who complain about the lateness....it's well deserved but you need to get back into this series. The writing/art makes up for this lateness.

Ignition City!
Only one ive read so far but I loved it, anything with ray gun exploding people though is pretty awesome. Also got Doktor Sleepless 12, and some older stuff and local xeroxed comics.
And still no place has Irredeemable in stock! what the heck!
Just finished up Battle for the Cowl. It's the first book I read this week, and it was completely awesome. I can definitely see why this is POW. I'm not calling this one my pick yet because I still have 7 more books, but damn, it was some good comics. Daniels' art was simply amazing.
Daredevil: Noir was...interesting. My review is here (http://www.ifanboy.com/reviews/Neb/marvel_comics/daredevil_noir/1_(of_4)).
The short version: The book is too safe and doesn't take enough risks. It seems like a tale that could be told in the current DD book. I would have liked a riskier, fresher approach. The book is damn purty though.
Echo was my pick of the week, damn I love this book.
I jumped the gun, forgot I hadn't read Secret Six yet.
This issue of Secret Six was the best one-and-done story I've read in ages.
One of the things I've been thinking about a lot in Battle for the Cowl is about Jason Todd's comments on Batman becoming a public figure instead of staying an urban myth. I think that it's a very interesting comment on Batman's character, and it made me think about how Batman still manages to instill fear while being so public. Is it that "Oh crap, I'm screwed kind of fear" or does it still match the fear that people still felt when he was starting out? It's definitely an interesting thought.

Yeah, my pick as well. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with a one-shot story like this. The art was alright, glad to have Scott back next issue.
Lock & Key: Headgames #4 was as awesome as always. That book is gorgeous. Tempted to just go to trades on it because IDW did the first arc justice with the production value that went into it, but then I wouldn't get my fix for months! Plus I like supporting IDW books in singles anyways.
Ult. Wolverine Vs. Hulk #4 was good...I guess. I know its not all about having a big ol' fight, its just that its 4 issues in and we haven't really gotten much further than we have since issue #1. Sure, you learned back stories and the She-Hulk twist, but the overall story has not moved. This structure works much better on LOST, not so much here. I guess now that we have learned about all the key players then we have nothing else to do now BUT fight. So the remaining issues could be one big slobber knocker for all I know! Still, little too late I think.

Two mini-series debuted this week which feature two of my favorite dark comedy characters: Deadpool and Bullseye. I reviewed both of them on iFanboy.com. One of them was a very enjoyable read, while the other...well...at least theres other good outlets for that character!:(

I really enjoyed having a light week for a change. I enjoyed ECHO & PUNISHER MAX, and really loved the EXILES relaunch. Fun book.
I decided against picking up WOLVERINE WEAPON X and I'm a bit surprised I haven't heard more about it. Thoughts? Is it pretty much what Aaron's done with Wolverine before, or are there some interesting new elements here?

It's tough to say, this is very much a launching pad issue that sets up the new series and storyline. Alot of it was Wolverine monologuing about his past, and we saw brief snippits of a new unseen threat with glowing green adamantium claws, as well as a scene when a drunken Wolverine dealing with some muggers in a pretty brutal way.
The story looks like its really gonna pick up next issue.

my POW was superman: world of new krypton #2. I really enjoyed this issue.
Also, did anyone else see the Final Crisis HC ad in Green lantern this week. This is the first time I have seen the cover to the trade. and HOLY SHIT is that a amazing cover. I might just by the HC for it.

Oh...sorry it looked like Alex Ross.
Maybe that's why he couldnt finish the series. 'I'm gonna do this cover and save some time for the HC release!'
Green Lantern was very quality this week. I want Blackest Night soon! This is going to be a kick ass event.

Hey what do you know? He got something Final Crisis related out on time! :p
Oh man, New Krypton was so awesome this week. It was a great read, and I love the conversations with Zod and Supes. I think that this series is going to go in a great direction for the character. Good stuff.
Wolverine: Weapon X was just...ok. Nothing all that great about it, but it wasn't completely terrible. So far, this is definitely Aaron's weakest Wolverine story, and I guess it feels a little forced because of the Weapon X connection. It feels like Marvel is doing nothing but pimping Wolverine and his Weapon X days in anticipation of the movie. Personally, I find nothing all that exciting about this time in Wolverine's life.
I don't know if anyone out there is reading Infinite Horizon, but it is a damn fine book. I mean, the year long delay definitely sucked, but I'm glad it's back. The story in it has been great, filled with action and drama, and the pieces that they use from The Odyssey are well done. And Noto's art...sweet God Noto draws a great book. I think this is going to make a great trade when it's all done.

All-New Savage She-Hulk #1 - I was a fan of She-Hulk back in Civil War, but not so much afterward. This new series just didn't get me interested period.
BPRD: The Black Goddess #4 - Dragons vs Frogs! Another exciting issue, and just one more left!
Captain Britain & MI:13 #12 - Cool little mode of transportation Dracula is working on. Other than that, can't wait until the next issue.
Daredevil: Noir #1 - So far it hasn't grabbed me like Spider-Man: Noir did. But then again it's better than X-Men: Noir, so that's saying something. I'll be picking up issue two regardless.
Dark Reign: Hawkeye #1 - Meh. Bullseye should have been aware that there would be repercussions. He's an Avenger now, and needs to keep the killing to a low profile.
Deadpool: Suicide Kings #1 - When I saw it was from the same writer who gave us the Games of Death one-shot, I was very hesitant to pick it up. But I did anyways, and so far this issue makes-up for that bad one-shot.
Echo #11 - Moore's art on this title has been consistently wonderful. It makes the action so much more wonderful.
Green Lantern #39 - My precious...Really liking the greediness of these new lanterns, and can't wait to see the Oans fight yet another lantern corps in the midst of battling all the others so far. And poor Hal; the dude needs some serious vacation time after all this.
House of Mystery #12 - Liked the tale from the bar patron in this issue. Another cool scene was when the bar goes into 2-D. Reminded me of the Paper Mario video game.
Infinite Horizon #4 - Hey! I vaguely recall this title from a few years ago. Sadly, I don't recall what happened in the first three issues (it's been a while), but good for them for getting back in the game. I'll just wait for the trade.
Marvel Zombies 4 #1 - Someone shoot this title in the head and be done with this genre.
Northlanders #16 - While I was a bit confused with the time line of this issue, Ryan Kelly's art is just so goddamn gorgeous! And Vasilis Lolos on art next issue? Hot damn!
Punisher MAX #69 - Cool cliffhanger! Something tells me a lot more people are going to be dead next issue. It's simple; you just can't kill Frank Castle.
Secret Six #8 - Fun double-date issue, but I really had fun with Ragdoll's dream at the end. Makes me want a Tiny Secret Six vs Tiny Titans one-shot.
Solomon Grundy #2 - Yeah, I'd pay $1 extra if they'd remove the text and just give me the art. Kolin's art on Grundy vs Bizarro is just such eye candy!
Superman: World of New Krypton #2 - Aw man, why do you have to try and involve Hal Jordan in this series?? Leave him alone!
The Sword #16 - Every time this title comes out, my jaw hits the ground, just like Dara's! Only she can actually reattach hers apparently.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - Skottie's art is just so wonderful in this series. His interpretation of Dorothy is just as cute as a button! And the flying monkeys? Awesomely creepy!
Titans #12 - NOBODY CARES ABOUT JERICHO!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MOVE-ON TO SOMETHING ENTERTAINING!!!
Ultimate Wolverine VS Hulk #4 - Very cool twist on who is actually She-Hulk. Two more jam-packed issues left, and I can't wait. Maybe if I'm lucky, this will be a hardcover on my shelf by the end of the year.
War Of Kings: Ascension #1 - Unless you're Darkhawk's #1 Fan, you can skip this crossover.
Wolverine: Weapon X #1 - Although not much action happened, it's a nice little set-up for things to come for Wolverine. In Jason Aaron we trust!

For someone who is a diehard fan of Ennis' take on the character, do any of these follow up writers hold a torch to his run. I was thinking about getting a trade or two but everytime I consider it I just think "you lost that lovin feelin, oh that lovin feelin".

In my opinion, Marvel Zombies got worse and worse after the original Volume 1.

I've been really enjoying the MAX stuff A.E. (After Ennis). It doesn't feel like it's been lackluster in any way.

In my opinion, Marvel Zombies got worse and worse after the original Volume 1. Well I agree in that 2 was worse than 1, but I have heard so many good things about Van Lente that I figured I would try it out.

Thats good but I guess I feel like Ennis did the best 60+ issues of Punisher ever so why should I read on. Not to say the Punisher shouldnt be written by anyone ever again, just that the Punisher Max series has a tone and voice, and Ennis nailed it. I am interested in Remenders take since that is a different angle to hit the character from.

Marvel Zombies 1 was a great premise.
Marvel Zombies 2 was made when the genre was whored out too much
Marvel Zombies 3 brought it back to true form and Van Lente deserve a slow clap for it
Marvel Zombies 4 would've been the same as the 3rd....until.....guess what? IT'S TIED IN TO MOTHERFU*****ING DARK REIGN!!!!!!!!!!

Bwah?!?!? Why on earth would they do that?
I know! Seriously.....seriously.....Marvel Zombies 4 is tied into Dark Reign? Why!? The 3rd installment never talked about Secret Invasion. Hell, isnt it suppose to be a standalone series? Or at least in some type of pocket universe like Captain America has been...
Marvel should be ashamed for whoring themselves out like this.

Jesus. Marvel is like the worst comics publisher.
Next time I go to the shop, I'm going to ask the guy to put the Marvel books in a brown paper bag.
