The last diggnation and Tekzilla HD files are not playing on the PS3. They just say "data corrupt". I've tried downloading straight from the PS3 web browser and that has not worked. Playing them off a thumb drive doesn't work either. The files play fine on a xbox 360. Can you please fix them.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. It has worked perfectly for ages and now with the latest episodes it suddenly doesn't.

I suspect something must have been changed in the encoding process.

Can this please be fixed?

I also am seeing the same thing. I used GeexBox UShare as my media server. The PS3 (or UShare, not sure) doesn't like the way Rev3 names the files (.mp4) because it thinks those are audio, so I rename them to .m4v so it knows it's video. That process has worked perfectly ever since I got my PS3. Within the past couple weeks, every single HD Rev3 episode I try to play comes up as Corrupted Data. I was forced today to watch the shows on my 13" laptop screen instead of my 46" TV. The horror...

I also tweeted about this, http://twitter.com/slonkak/status/1498204616, we'll see what happens...

Must be Geexbox that doesn't like the .mp4 extension, I've never had to rename the files to play them.

It probably is. I don't pretend to know how DLNA software works, just that it does (used to). Either way, I'm glad to see that others are seeing the same problems as I am with the Rev3 HD files. At least I know that I didn't break anything... :)

I've read in other revision3.com forums that this problem isn't limited to the PS3, one user reported that the latest full tekzilla won't play on their Xbox 360.

I use TVersity to watch revision 3 programs and the last full episode of Tekzilla will not play, but the latest Tekzilla daily does.

Having the exact same problem with my PS3 as well with the HD shows. Something must have changed with the way Revision 3 is encoding the HD files, as I have not changed anything on my end that I'm aware of...has been working for the longest time!

We have not made any changes to the encoding settings recently. We're investigating if a recent software upgrade may be the culprit.

Thanks Chuck! I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say that we appreciate your looking into this. Just so you have all of the info, the latest episode of System acts the same as the other files mentioned in this thread, corrupted data.

Thanks again!

For the record, people are complaining about similar issues (the very same issue?) with the small/large versions of shows on ipods and iphones, see: http://www.revision3.com/forum/showpost.php?p=511029&postcount=19

The large and small .mp4 files for the latest tekzilla and systm have been replaced with good working copies that will play on the iPod/iPhone devices.

What about the HD/PS3 issue. Is that related? Can it be fixed the same way, perhaps?

The "fixed" file for tekzilla 83 (http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp4/bitcast-a.bitgravity.com/revision3/web/tekzilla/0083/tekzilla--0083--web20--hd.h264.mp4) is up, I am just awaiting confirmation that it is working. If you could test it out for me, that would be great. :)

How do I actually get the new one? I redownloaded and got the exact same file as before. (MD5: c634ed904312f747ca8c96a8e859ff07) Do I need to wait for it to mirror somewhere?

That is definitely the old file. The MD5 should be "075d1245fb4b6d34e0ebe07804a9efaa" One second, let me confirm that it has been propagated across the entire Bitgravity network. In the meantime, you can download it here (http://thedailychu.com/misc/tekzilla--0083--web20--hd.h264.mp4).

There is a compatibility issue between the PS3 and Quicktime 7.6. We're researching for a workaround/fix.

I just downloaded and played this Tekzilla episode on the PS3 and it worked perfectly. So whatever you did seems to have done the trick. Oh, and I also noticed that the HD(30FPS) MP4 file for co-op was having the same issue with not playing on the PS3, but that may be related to this problem with the regular HD Quicktime files that you seemed to have corrected.

Thanks...

It appears that what you did may have caused a problem for TiVo users. I use TiVo Desktop Plus to transfer Rev3 shows over to my DVR. All was working well until last week. It started with me just getting a green screen on my TV with only audio. I upgraded to the latest TiVo Desktop Plus version and now what is happening is the show will play for about 6-7 minutes and then it starts stopping and stuttering for the rest of the episode. Someone else on the TiVo Community forum is having the same problem.

sorry about the problem- we've tested on our ps3 here and see the same issue. (unfortunately, we're not quite sure why it stopped working this time- we'll have to dig back into it. multi-platform support is fun! :)

more info as we get it.

out of curiosity, did you update your ps3 last week to the new firmware?

Same problem here too. I tried to watch the new HD CO-OP and TRS on my PS3, and it tells me they are corrupt. I did update my PS3's firmware the other day. However, I am able to watch the Tekzilla that was released last Thursday.

Whatever happened to this issue? I'm still having problem. I use Tversity to stream Tekzilla, it works fine on the xbox 360, but doesn't work on PS3. It's still giving me the "Data type not supported" error on the PS3. Is there a easy fix?

Thanks
