Love is a 200-player, persistent world in which players have complete control over the very landscape. Follow that by Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Henry Hatsworth and we've truly run the gamut of gaming.

lol Matt. But uh, glad to see LOTS of Tiff in this ep. When people said they wanted more, you delivered. lol. The poor girl was just listening for most of the shots you had her in, while Patrick talked up a storm. Hatsworth does look pretty awesome though. Anyway, great episode as always guys.

Great episode, more Tiff Chow is always good. I've never really thought about checking out motorstorm but after this episode I just might have to. And Love looks quite interesting, it's amazing it's all been done by one guy.

Hey, just registered to comment. You guys are knocking it out of the park with this show as far as I'm concerned. I had been watching 1UP Show since around 2006 or so - and I think CO-OP is better than ever. I love the mix of new releases, older releases and indie stuff. The segment about Love is blowing my mind. I have no idea if that game will even be any good, but the fact that he's doing what he's doing is just insane and inspiring.

I also like the mix of old and new faces. I'd like to think people are responding to Tiff so well for the right reasons: because she's a real gamer and adds to the conversation. If she was JUST a pretty face there would be backlash. I think we're all too aware of how woman are most often used and portrayed in the gaming industry and media as eye candy. You guys never did that at 1UP as far as I can tell, and so far you continue to keep it real. I think having a real female perspective is important. IMO the 1UP show suffered when Kathleen left because she was a really strong voice on that show that added a lot.

Anyway, you guys deserve a ton a credit and attention for what you're doing with this show. Keep up the good work.

I was wondering what the best way to show my support for the show. I normally watch the show using iTunes and I digg the show every week. Should i be watching the show off of this site for you guys to get full credit for me watching it? Or does it not matter.

Love the show. Keep it up!

I love that adorable grandma in the opening Jason montage. The one where he shows her his game and she just smiles. Can I adopt her?

Shwingg, I am glad to hear that you are enjoying and digging the show. The CO-OP Team is doing an amazing job.

We do count downloads/views on iTunes when we measure the show audience so your consistent viewership of CO-OP counts.

Feedback in the forums is always appreciated. Another way to support the show is to support the sponsors like Squarespace, Go Daddy and Gamefly. Be sure to use the CO-OP codes and discounts so that they get the credit.

Thank you again for supporting the show.

Wow, that was a great episode again. "Love" looks like an awesome game. It was really cool to see that game on here, since I remember when that guy was just developing a rendering/graphics engine and modeler. (http://www.quelsolaar.com) I used it for a little bit and it was really cool, in fact you guys made me download it again. The engine is called "Quel Solaar" and the modeller "Loq Ariou". There are other cool things on his site too.

On a technical note all of his software uses a technology called "verse" (http://www.uni-verse.org)which allows you to simultaneously edit and work with data in two separate programs at the same time. For example when he showed that model he was making, i could have had another "verse" enabled program(like Blender (http://www.blender.org)) connected to the server and see his updates and also interact at the same time. Or there could be a texture in a game engine that is running and you could edit it at the same time in Gimp (http://www.gimp.org) and see the changes in realtime.

Its really cool that his game seems to be just as innovative as the software and technologies behind it. Its cool that you guys are looking at all of these independent games, since it really inspires me as a programmer and individual game designer. Again great show! (Sorry about technical crap, but i got really excited and geeked out)

Glad to see you guys are back with reviews after the last two episodes (which were awesome in their own way). Good tuffs as always!

Henry Hatsworth is the most confusing game of all time to explain to someone. I love how it took John like 20 minutes to explain it on ListenUP, a month ago, and 2 minutes on here. He's been practicing!

Any chance we'll see Parish, Shane, or Nick Suttner back on the show?

It's impressive that one guy can make "Love", but I don't see what's going to be fun about it. It didn't look all that fun from the demo.

On Love: I wanted to ask Matt or whoever interviewed him for the CO-OP episode, why does he insist in doing it all himself. I mean, it is an amazing accomplishment and a great press story but why not gather a couple people to help out in the project?

It is kind of funny to see a one guy make a game that looks almost retail ready, when teams of 10+ people struggle to make a XNA game that looks a bit worse then those early South Park episodes. I guess it comes down to skill and experience, but there are certainly talented kids out there looking for someone with a great idea to work with.

Thank you doesn't cut it, but I'll say it anyway! THank you!! :) ... and, yes, women on the show is a very big deal to us as the diversity of perspectives is incredible important. I totally agree that Kathleen's departure hurt The 1UP Show as she's a very smart, super-awesome gamer and funny to boot! Tiff was someone we wanted to have on The 1UP Show for a while, and it has just so happened to work out really well with us since launching CO-OP to have her on. We think it's very important to show that gamers are not a monocultural stereotype and that there is a universal appeal of gaming to both men and women in that they both just love great games. Hopefully that will do a small part to keep the industry from developing "games for girls" as just an extension of the childhood toys you see which start dividing gender identities at an early age. Kat Bailey is another great gamer we want to have on more. I think she did a great job in the Mad World segment even though that was her first time on camera. For "teh womenz," we want their brains! BRRAAAAAIIIIINNNNNNSSSSssssss!!

Whow knows, man :) ... I think sometimes people just want to do something like that just to see if they can!

Eskil definitely knows that the "game" part of it has a long way to go. He's getting systems in place, now, and just starting to work on the enemy AI. He told me that he needs to nail that, next, and that if he can do it right that the game design itself should help fall into play.

I'd liken it to the "Director" in Left4Dead. The bots and the AI Director which spawn the zombie bots were systems done before the concept of making it a zombie game came into play. I guess i'm saying that I don't think you necessarily have to start with a "Design" before you start to build a game. Sometimes just starting with really good systems can lend itself a design all it's own :)

We'd love to have them all on in the future. With any luck, we'll have a chance to bring all our friends on the show at some point or another.

Jason said the title of the episode was Bonertown and that I, ustreamer-85514, guessed it absolutely right.

Bonertown was a working title for the episode, here's a screen shot of the title screen so you believe me.

http://revision3.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1094&d=1239823881

We later changed the title, because I am a big Angela Bassett fan and recently watch "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" again for the twentieth time.

Angela Bassetts character Stella Payne was a huge inspiration for me in playing my roll in this weeks narrative. The character Stella, a hardworking, successful female, stock broker and how she struggles between work and love. I was going through the same thing with my love for Rhythm Heaven and trying to get my work done at Area 5. I feel like my struggle comes through in the scene where I am sitting next to the women on the train station. You see the frustration in my face and in my body movement just like Stella.

I had barely heard of Hatsworth before the show and now I need to buy it. The difficulty looks like it may kill me though, but the gameplay style reminds me a bit of The World Ends With You, action on the top screen puzzle/matching game on the bottom screen.

The segment about Love was awesome. I still dont exactly know how the gameplay will work and would sorta like to see it without the 'alien language' cheat menu. Major props to the developer, one guy building a complete graphics engine and a 200 player multiplayer game is truly epic!
