UFC 2009 Undisputed demo is coming out next week! The full game comes out in mid-May, IIRC. I think on the 19th.

Anyone looking forward to this?

By the sounds of this GameSpot preview, the demo is a blast, and the game is deep and addictive:

If the demo is as good as I think it will be, based on that article, I'll probably end up making this a day-one purchase.

How? Pre-order bonus? Or is it out on XBL early?

Downloading and burning to a CD. Your xbox dosent need to be modded for it to work, which is kinda of neat.

I'm looking forward to it. I've fond memories of unabashedly whipping my friends in the Dreamcast version using Kevin Randleman. I'm hoping this one won't be as cheap as the dreamcast version and will allow for some strategy as opposed to the button-mash-a-thon that existed before.

There's a great deal of strategy in actual Martial Arts, more than the non-practitioner can see while watching UFC. Here's to hoping they include some of that this time...could turn the game into a must buy instead of a 'Must rent'.

I've been playing it a bit and I like it. Trying to do ground game with Chuck is hard.. But I'm still getting used to the controls. Gotta go play it some more, start really letting it sink in.

Wow - played it for a couple of hours last night. This is a must buy.
I knew I'd enjoy it when it took 40 minutes to finish all the tutorial sections.

There's a HUGE amount of strategy involved, and I love the hit detection and models.
I really wish they would tweak the AI though, I was fighting Chuck and the dude threw like 20 Superman punches in 2 Rounds. That NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER happens - I may have seen 20 superman punches in 40 actual matches in real life. It's an incredibly risky move, and it shouldn't be thrown in there like it's just a regular punch. And especially w/ Chuck, I can't even remember the last time chuck threw a superman punch.
Now if the guys from the Militech camp throw superman punches - ok - they would be the fighters that I'd expect to see throwing 1 or 2 a match. But come on - Chuck threw em' like they were right straights or something.

Other than that though - I think THQ really delivered a great MMA game here, there's TONS of complexity - the fighters are portrayed accurately. And most of all - it's FUN!!

I'm buying it.

Well, the game is pretty realistic, but it's not 100% accurate. For example, if you play as Chuck, you can block. That NEEEEEEEEEEVER happens in real life. ;)
