I recently brought Deadpool TPB: Secret Invasion and thought it was freakin' awesome. Because of that, I'm dying to start reading this awesome character, and I was wondering if there any other TPB/GM/Storylines or Required reading for this character?
I also heard alot of good thing from Joe Kelly's run in Deadpool. Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thank you.

I can't recommend Fabian Nicieza's 'Cable & Deadpool' series enough. The 'Road to Good Intentions' trade, which includes the Civil War tie-in, is particularly essential reading for a DP fan.

I also enjoyed Cable and Deadpool. I would really recommend the Deadpool classic books that have been coming out. That includes Kellys run, as well as other great writers and artists.

I can't recommend the Joe Kelly series enough. It was my first introduction to Deadpool and I've been a fan ever since.
Plus, you can't beat the Ed McGuiness art!

I also thought Deadpools involvement in secret invasion was great and gave me a bit of interest in the character that I really didn't care about before. I was told to pick up the Deadpool classic Vol 1 by Nicieza to start with.

I agree with Kahunablair, Kelly's Deadpool series is bar none the best. Not only is his stories fun and interesting, Kelly write Wade as a in depth character, not just a comic relief. His issues were 1-33, with a couple of annuals. I also recommend Gail Simone's run which was on the tail end of the series, issues 65-69 if I'm not mistaken. After that there's her Agent X series, which is only a few issues and serves as a sequel to her run.

I find Deadpool is best when he's used as just a silly satire, and though I may somewhat recommend Cable and Deadpool, I would just stick to any Singles or if they made Trades(I'm not certain if they have) of his orginal series. That's when he's at his best.

Is there a TPB about the deadpool origin at all? I love Deadpool but don't much about his beginnings. Help me!

Try and find the Deadpool/Death Annual from 1998. This is the complete story about Wade's time in Weapon X and how he became crazy.

I just got a bunch of new comics on my computer, and I decided to read the first issue of the new Deadpool series that started during the Secret Invasion. First off, the art by Paco Medina was excellent. Very clean but vibrant style. I also found myself liking the character and how his multiple personalites interact. The fact that he finds himself hallucinating often was done in an enjoyable way as well. Basically, I don't know that I want to go back and read the old stuff, but I feel like I can jump on from here.
I mean just check out the last page... as they say.. WTF?

I can't tell whether this is incredibly timely (http://ifanboy.com/content/articles/I_Have_It_In_For_Deadpool), or whether forum posters just never go to iFanboy.com at all.

I used to before I became a revision3 fan, and not an exclusively ifanboy fan. I just use these forums now.

The interacting with multiple personalities is pretty much a Daniel Way invention when it comes to Deadpool. I mean he's had a little interaction with his captions in the past, but never like this.
I know you said you didn't really want to go back and read the old stuff, but the Wolverine: Origins arc with Deadpool is written the same way as the series, and is when Way first tested the waters with 'Pool. Its a good Deadpool story, plus probably the best Wolverine: Origins story there is. Plus, Deadpool #1-33 (including the two annuals) by Joe Kelly are the best. The Deadpool Classic trades are starting to compile Kelly's stories.

The interacting with multiple personalities is pretty much a Daniel Way invention when it comes to Deadpool. I mean he's had a little interaction with his captions in the past, but never like this.I honestly think its supposed to be something important. Deadpool has always had that interplay between himself and his own yellow caption boxes. I think the new white boxes is supposed to be something significant. Something the writer plans to reveal at a later point. The white boxes seem to be this completely serious, business-like character that's never been a part of Deadpool before.
Is there a TPB about the deadpool origin at all? I love Deadpool but don't much about his beginnings. Help me!If you want, I could just tell you real quick. If you don't wanna know, don't read on:
SPOILERS:
Wade Wilson isn't a mutant. He was a mercenary, dying of cancer, who signed up for Weapon X because they said maybe they could cure him. Basically, they grafted the regeneration ability of a mutant in Weapon X to Wade(not specifically stated to be Wolverine I don't think, but heavily implied).
It didn't really work the way they wanted though because his regeneration ability and his cancer kind of...merged. Which is why he looks the way he does. His cancer has consumed his whole body, but its also keeping him alive. It's also the main reason he's insane. The cancer is supposedly constantly damaging his brain but it always regenerates.
The regeneration is his only real supernatural ability. Well, that and the fact that he can't die. Death is in love with him, and Thanos is jealous of that so he cursed Deadpool to never be able to die so they can never be together. He's a master with guns and swords, and he often has a teleporter and holographic disguiser pieces of tech.
He breaks the 4th wall because he asked Loki what the secret of the universe is and Loki basically told him that the universe is written by a man with a typewriter etc...
That's pretty much all you need to know about where Deadpool comes from.

One of my fave Deadpool story arcs was from early on, it was called "Dead Reckoning" and had some of the best damn writing out there. If your favourite part about Deadpool books is Wade Wilson and his demented sense of humour, you'll LOVE this arc. Of special note is a rant that DP goes on in issue 20 while kicking the crap out of Batroc the Leaper, in fact, that entire issue is what got me turned onto Deadpool and his madness years ago. Been a huge fan ever since. :D
Also good is his "Secret Invasion" tie-in. Nothing like watching Deadpool turn an entire batch of super skrulls into a bunch of batshit-insane self-destructive lunatics like he is. :P

I really enjoyed this trade too. From the opening at the baseball stadium.. clear through to the end. I thought it was just a fun DP romp.

I have to agree with "Cable and Deadpool" it is by far an absolute MUST READ for any Deadpool fan.

I only read the Simone/Udon Deadpool and I really enjoyed it. I thought that Deadpool was hillarious. Is the Kelly Deadpool the same? Or even better?

They're both, IMO, the quintessential Deadpool runs. Kelly's, though, is slightly number 1. He fleshes out Deadpool's character like no one else ever has. Hysterical stuff, as well.

Did they ever make a trade paper back of the Simone/Udon run of Deadpool? And Agent X? I only read up to issue 4 of Agent X. I've always wanted to finish that run.

You know what a great spinoff of Agent X? The Taskmaster miniseries. It really made me love that character, and I always geek out now when he shows up in Deadpool.
Also, the greatest Deadpool moment of all time:

I think the Taskmaster mini came before Agent X. Yeah, cause him and Sandi are friends in Agent X, and they just meet in the mini.
I agree, it's a great series, I wish he'd wear that costume that he wears in that and Agent X more often.
