I hope I don't get accused for whoring my site, as I'm posting here for a reason: the 1Up Show/CO-OP served as an inspiration for me to start Playthroughs.com (along with N. Suttner's 1upFM Backlog segment), and CO-OP fans are the sort of people who have the sort of interesting, intelligent discussion that I want to bring to the site.

The site is basically a community that nominates, plays, and discusses retro games that have slip through the cracks for one reason or another (never a good one, though). We have been covering Mother 3 this past month, and now we are taking nominations for next month (which will be added into a poll). I also welcome users to write articles for weekly features; basically providing a platform for gamers wanting to display a more thought-provoking take on a game/genre, a la CO-OP, who don't have the means to display their thoughts otherwise (c'mon, no one reads 1UP user blogs!).

Everyone is welcome to join the discussion and nominate a title for next month's game. You can cast your nomination at this link (http://playthroughs.com/playthroughs/2009/4/19/mother-3-week-3-nominations-week.html).

Thanks for showing support, one way or another. And much love to the CO-OP, guys. I've always thought you were worthy of Revision3, and now I'm wondering whether Revision3 is worthy of CO-OP, heh.

+_+

Oh nice! This is the kind of site there needs to be more of :)

I was a little confused as to whether you're a podcast or text-driven, actually. I'd add in a link into every post about the game you're playing through (har har) pointing to the forums so that it's obvious where the fun is happening.

Oh, thanks a lot, Matt! The site, existing for only 3 weeks now, is still a bit of an experiment. I'm aiming it to be a more focused, thoughtful version of those "Let's Play:..." forum threads you find everywhere. I'm thinking of posting video reviews on YouTube for the games we play that incorporate things said in the forums, not unlike RebelFM/Backlog...

speaking of which you need to stay on board RebelFM's Backlog. With Nick and Phil out of the picture, you are the only one now who can ground the show from becoming an aimless series of dick jokes and borderline racist commentary--just kidding, Anthony and Arthur are great (but there always needs to a be a straight man). I haven't listened since episode 2 (I'm lagging behind in Bully), so you might still be on board for all I know (and hope).

Thanks for the advice!

Haha! Yup! I'm still there. The Bully one is taking longer because Arthur and Anthony have been alternately out of town so it's been hard to get together to make it happen. Tyler Barber has joined us though, and he's awesome :)

Yeah, Tyler seems like a nice guy. He's from my hometown. I think he used to write for Free Press Houston; I know a couple people that do graphic design for FPH, so I'm hoping to get an internship there, this summer. Maybe I'll follow his foot steps and be bitching about MGS4 and the Wii along with the rest of the crew on RebelFM, one day. A man/panda can dream, right?
