So, I thought I would practice the art of making mediocore game reviews on YouTube but I need the Tekzillians help!

I have a MacBook Pro with Windows XP ready via boot camp. I have been able to capture game footage on my XP through Fraps perfectly, but have had a bit more trouble running iShowU on Mac. It lags a bit, but I'm not sure why? Perhaps because I only have 3 gigs on my Mac partition?

My big question, however, is how do I capture game footage from my TV to my mac? I have a new Panasonic Viera with monitor input, but I have no idea how to get TV footage (games I'm playing on the 360) outputed and captured on to my Mac.

The CO-OP guys do this sort of thing all the time, but this seems like the more appropriate place to ask. Thanks for any tips!

Err, "monitor input" != a capture device.

your going to need a tv capture card to do capturing of content from a console.
Generally this'll be Standard Def with s-video and a capture card as the only HD solution that'll work with a 360 is the hauppage HD-PVR but that introduces a few seconds of lag time from the reviews i've seen. Not good for game playing.

There is a (very expensive and PCI-e) HDMI capture card but it won't deal with HDCP, of which I think is required for the 360 to output via it's HDMI port, at least for the consumer models. Dunno about the 360 but the PS3 dev kit doesn't have this restriction so one can assume there's a similar 360 model they're using like that.

Wow, I just found the oddest way around this problem. What you do is find your iMovie project file, right click (hah!) and select "Show Package Contents", and then drag your movie files into the "media" folder found within. Now, when you open your Imovie project again it will tell you that you have videos in your trash. So, open up your trash and drag them back into your clips area, wah-lah! Uncompressed video goodness. God, iMovie is useless. But, if you are like me and can't afford better, this is an excellent tip.

*oops, wrong thread*
