Okay, Firefox just upgraded to 3.0.9 for me today, which is fine and dandy, but there's one thing about this new update that's bugging the hell out of me.

This page (http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0.9/whatsnew) keeps loading in a new tab EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the browser, and it won't leave me alone!

Now, this page didn't bother me in previous updates; I could just X it out and not worry about it, but now, even if I remove it, the "Firefox Updated" page keeps showing up. Is there a way to get rid of it?

Come on, token. lol. Let's not get too drastic.

Anyway, I don't really have a good answer for you Daikun. You can try this link and see if it helps.

Firefox is only supposed to display that page on the first run after an update, so somehow the setting that tells it that it has been run is not getting saved. Most likely your preferences folder is not writable. At some point, have you ever backed up your profile and then restored it, or somehow recovered your computer from a backup? Can you save other settings? I'm thinking some of the files in your profile are read only.

It's easier to create a new profile and see if that helps:

Have you tried reinstalling?
