I know Tekzilla covered this in a previous episode and Patrick recommend intellimouse from Microsoft but I was wondering if there are any drawbacks to bluetooth mice. I'm buying a new laptop and it will have a bluetooth on it. Just seems nice to have no usb or cords but i just want to know if there are any drawbacks to them?

Not that I know of, I've been using a bluetooth mouse for years (with bluetooth built into my laptop).

The only pain is the same as with any wireless mouse and that's having to change the batteries every now and then, apart from that, there's really no other drawbacks.

I use a Logitech MX Laser mouse on my desktop via a KVM for both my HP and MB. It is just about the perfect mouse ...

BUT when I am mobile, I use a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/Presenter/productdetails.aspx?pid=085). To be honest, using it with my MB is a no brainer, but using it with my HP - because I don't use the included dongle (FFS, I wanted it because i could be dongle free with BT) - pairing it can be a PITA. It *is* too small to be used as a daily mouse, but it perfect for coffee shops, and other mobile situations.

So ... for a desktop setup, get a regular sized keyboard, and a regular mouse of whatever size feels most comfortable, but the Presenter Mouse 8000 is awesome for being on the road (and the laser pointer is kinda cool as well).

I own this guy: (newegg link) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826105238)
grabbed a pair of AAA eneloop batteries to go in it, been working great with my laptop so far. Even for gaming, given a good surface (Left 4 Dead, Crysis)

is that a full size mouse? I have this right now and hate it http://www.amazon.com/Targus-AMU0503US-Kaleidoscope-Optical-Retractable/dp/B00094F67E/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241048540&sr=8-1

Since I'm buying a new laptop (see my laptop thread) I was planning on getting a wireless mouse.

Well, it's not quite full sized but it's not quite mini as well. I don't like mini mice as well but that one was good enough for a couple hours of left 4 dead with only minor finger cramping.
If there's an Office Max (maybe even Office Depot) in your area it should be on display there, albeit more expensive.
