Well this sounds good, I got a phat psp that I hacked to emulators and play (games I still own) off the memory card.

I would really be willing to buy this as long as there is not DRM in the game download AND I can still play my emulators to play my other games. I am tired of seeing dead pixels (3) and 2 stripes a pixel wide of a blue and brown color. I would prolly get the psp with the larger internal memory because I dont have a large card.

What does the co-op forums think about all of this 'news' slash rumour ???

Has the PSP3000 firmware been cracked yet to allow custom firmware?

I think this will be, like the DSi, an attempt to stop piracy of the software while enticing old owners to upgrade. It doesn't seem like much else has been upgraded other than design. Give me a PSP with dual analog nubs and I'll be willing to upgrade in a heartbeat (you know, after games have been made to use two nubs). Right now, there's no incentive for me to upgrade.

If you're tired of seeing dead pixels, you could always just buy a new screen for about $30, but I had to switch out screens twice (I'm a tad clumsy with the thing) and my current one has a dead pixel despite being new. Though it's in the corner and hardly noticeable.

No they have not done that to the 3000 to my knowledge.

I'd have to agree. I really want dual analog nubs. I might be hard-pressed to upgrade otherwise :/

I think Sony ought to make a shiny, happier version of the PSP (something squarish and available in many fruity colors). The PSP hardware looks a little Klingon as compared to the DS -- especially in the eyes of a suburban parent looking to hook her kid up with a portable system. Oh, and they should make a fun little simple platforming game to go with it as a pack-in cartridge.

I do want the dual analog nubs BUT even if they do come out I dont think there would be many games that would take advantage of those dual sticks.

Sadly I doubt anything would show up until second version of the psp line shows up.

i think the psp should just be the PS2 controller with a giant screen.

like the two triggers and two analogs sticks and d-pad and face buttons everything.

well maybe not the two triggers but dual analog would be awesome, i love my DS and havn't picked up a PSP ever, so maybe pick one up i'll pick up the new one.
