Hi I have a macmini with an external drive and want to back it up over my network to my Drobo which is on a Droboshare.
I have looked at SUPER DUPER but it looks like you can only back up what's on the main drive and it doesn't recognize network drives.
Can anyone help???

Thanks for your reply, I did what you said and tried it but it needs all the drives formatted in a hfs format and it did not recognise the Drobo

I think CCC may allow you to work on the Drobo if you choose a different (non-bootable) backup format.
It's kind of a pain, but one thing you can do is manually make a Sparse Image on the drobo and then trick Time Machine into backing up to it. The directions I normally use have disappeared, but I'm sure you can find them if you google something like "time machine drobo".

Why not use Apple's inbuilt TimeMachine app? I dont think it needs a dedicated drive type.

Doesn't it require an HFS+ formatted drive on the other end? When I tried to get Time Machine to backup to a ReadyNAS NV+, I had to make a sparse image manually on the NAS and then name it such that Time Machine would use it. That worked OK.
