Patrick intrigued me with his comments about the new Lincoln MKS. Especially when he began touting the V6 engine. I did a bit of research, and if Patrick thinks this car has power, then he must be driving a 1968 VW Campmobile.

0-60 7.5? 1/4 mile in like 15.4 barely breaking 90 lol. I do like the looks of it, but most modern 4 cylinder cars can whoop this dog.

Do you often compare Apples & Oranges? 4cylenders are smaller lighter cars.

Lincolns are about comfort and style. My father has driven a few of them in the last 4 years. FYI they really do have some power in them for their size.

People who buy Lincolns don't have speed or performance as their top priority.

I've driven a lot of different cars, up to an including Jaguars and (very briefly) a Lamborghini. A Lincoln Town Car is, by far, the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven. Only thing bad I could say about the ones I've driven is they weren't ragtops.

Patrick drove the car to review the geek stuff. The chassis/engine is a good balance between performance and economy. As mentioned upthread, you don't buy a Lincoln for quarter mile performance.

I have a Lincoln, not an MKS, but a LS V8, with proper rear wheel drive.

The air conditioned seats are wonderful. If you haven't tried them, you won't appreciate it. I completely agree with Patrick on them.

Yea, instead you should get a quicker car for that class like the Lexus ES 350 that blows the doors off the MKS with a powertrain that "whisks the car to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds" (quoted from http://www.edmunds.com/lexus/es350/2008/review.html) I mean, wow, that's almost a half a second faster.... oh wait, as was mentioned earlier, this is a luxury car. The speed does not matter so much as the overall drive and comfort. I have driven an es 350 and if the MKS is only half a second slower getting to 60, than that is plenty of power for this kind of car. We are not comparing this to a BMW M3 here.
