Looking for a piece of hardware that could connect to an iMac in order to write CDs. My friends CD optical drive broke and he can't spare to send it in to Apple because he runs a constant business online. Any ideas/suggestions?

Looking for a piece of hardware that could connect to an iMac in order to write CDs. My friends CD optical drive broke and he can't spare to send it in to Apple because he runs a constant business online. Any ideas/suggestions?Any of the external USB connected drives will work, and are pretty cheap. Walk into any OfficeMax/Depot/Staples type place and they have them, so no need to find a local computer store.
A R/W CD Drive is one thing ... but he could also consider some thing like this (http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p1_Memorex-20X-External-Double-Layer-DVD-Drive-with-LightScribe-trade_195308_Business_Supplies_10051_SC3:CG104:DP2 165:CL142594) - a dual layer R/W DVD (which means 8.5GB) with Lightscribe (uses the DVD laser to "print" a label on the disc). Drivers for OSX are available on line. Cost - $89.99.
