View Full Version : Show Ideas/Improvements/Suggestions

I wanted to make it clear that people aren't this pissed about the show, but by the comments JV made.

So, I thought it was a good idea to create a thread for show improvements, ideas and suggestions. We already established the first episode wasn't very good- how can other ones be better.

Please, no discussion of how awful the first episode was or of JV's comments. Only constructive ideas, improvements and suggestions. There are plenty of other threads for those topics.

Stop it with the one man crusade.

How about waiting until the man has his second podcast up, or better yet until he is a couple of shows in after starting in at the Rev3 studios?

What you have seen is not so much a pilot as a proof of concept.

Let's wait and see how the final product looks.

So we shouldn't give constructive comments? I really don't get you guys. People complain they don't like the show and you get pissed because they're not constructive. So, I make a thread with good intentions where we can give not only suggestions, but ideas for future episodes and it's looked down on?

Whatever. You have no room to complain about people not being constructive then. I was honestly trying to make a positive topic. Forget it. Misery loves company.

Seriously, I've made my initial comments (like improve the production quality etc...), but it is way to early for me to make any judgment call on this show without more episodes.

Also, seeing that he is an established shock jock. I'm not convinced that he is going to care much about our comments.

I think there are only a few people that can't see through your nonsense. You keep painting this picture of your innocence and how all that you are trying to do is for the rev3 community. While on the other hand you lead a "one man crusade" talking about how excited you are about emailing the sponsors and the venture capitalists. NEWSFLASH: If you are successful in riling up the sponsors and backers (which I doubt you will be) this WILL NOT be a good thing for the rev3 community. If VC's pull out the flow of money, I assure you that JV's show will not be the only one canceled.

Keep "working for the community" buddy.

You've clearly just been hurt badly and have taken everything very personally and now you feel like you are some leader in charge of "cleaning up this mess" for everyone else. Keep it movin.

If Revision3 supports this sort of thing, I don't wish them success. Ultimately, I would like Revision3 to be successful, and I hope they speak out against this.

But yes, if they're going to support this sort of stuff I don't wish them success. I'm not hiding that. I also realize one letter to their sponsors isn't going to do anything. But if others do the same, then that's a different story.

can you imagine how much could get changed if all this rage/effort were focused on issues that *actually* mattered? I can see where one might be offended by hearing bad words, but if this gets people this mad, why aren't the same people crusading agaisnt the *real* hate crimes? Who cares what bad words are said if we dont even have the choice to marry who we want? When our own elected officials put down all sorts of classes of people? It's real easy to sit in a forum taking the moral high ground, it's another to actually get out into the world and battle the *real* injustices.

(also- yay maine!)

I get what you're saying, and I agree actually. I can't speak for everyone else, but if others are angry about this, they should do other things for gay rights too.

I myself sent some emails out to my elected officials last month regarding gay marriage in Maryland. Basically, the governor of MD supports civil unions but not gay marriage. I plan on doing more this summer as well.

But I agree. If this angers people, use this as a jumping ground to take further action for gay rights beyond this, because there is a lot of work to be done.

Way to put all this into perspective.

Those who are battling social injustices through the rev3 forum are just taking a "holier than thou" stance. Go use your real voices on something that matters.

I don't think it's a holier than thou stance, but I agree. If angered by this, people should be proactive towards gay rights beyond Rev3.

Agreed. Here's a couple places to start.

Let's forget one radio jockey and focus on the larger issue. I've wasted too much of my own energy on this and I don't doubt I'm the only one.

It's weird to see a mod hijack a positive thread before it can even have a chance to get started. I guess this stuff is just going to keep circling around on itself.

No not saying it like that. I'm saying this to the people who were talking garbage about the show to know this stuff takes time to develop. When JV and E went to New York, nobody liked them at first because it was a new show, but over time it got really good. Ya know.

A thread like this can't work this early on because, as both JV and Louderback have admitted, the first episode was just a "test run."

We can't really say ways to improve the show until we actually know what the show is going to be like on a regular basis.

Nobody here knows what the hell you're talking about. I'm even clueless. Yeah, there was an incident where one of my buddies was involved in an unlawful traffic stop. The Maryland state police AND his commanding officer agreed it was too which is why my buddy got an apology and the officer got in trouble.

Nobody "owned" anyone. I wasn't even involved in this incident. If your going to attempt to troll based on a thread I made a couple of months back, try to remember what actually happened.
