Hi, I am starting up a video podcast and for the proof of concept we are using some older video cameras (which are different from each other). Once I can prove that it is viable, I am planning on going out and buying 2 new video cameras. I am looking at spending about 700-1000 each. Anybody have any recommendations on models? I am looking for HD ones.
Thanks!

For podcasting on Youtube, Veoh, Vimeo
Look at the fair panasonic lz-7 digital camera($120-180)
Video quality is ok at 848x480(16:9)
480p Wide Screen should be fair enough for Youtube where you would have the most viewers
Video raw is MOV
Video to PC is very fast and transcoding is too.
Sound is not good at mono
If you still want a quality video cam, i look at flash based cameras from samsung with 1.5mm audio plug for good sound
Youtube Tip:For video 6min+, i found that transcoding to flash maxes the video to the 10min limit.
