While I agree that's weird and not very hygienic it might be just due to how he was brought up. I for the life of me can't figure out why but my mom always taught my sisters that they are to wash their own underwear in the bath tub while they bath (excluding bras) I use to almost puke my guts out every morning when I saw my sisters panties hanging in the bathroom. It's the main reason Why I demanded my own bathroom. but my grandma does it my aunts all do it and my sisters and cousins all do it. I don't know why i think its nasty but it's part of being Dominican cause none of my white or black female friends do it or their parents.
