There has been some REALLY good games this season! I was wondering what is everyone's predictions? of course I'm gonna have to say Wings ;) been a wings fan since I was born so I can't ever go with anyone else! Even back during the Tim Cheveldae era.

but man... hurricanes and penguins are stepping up their game.

but since I love the old school rivalry. I'd love to see Hawks vs. Wings next round! and in the final. Pens vs. Wings of course... just so I can rub it in at work to all the Pittsburgh fans. Crosby is a little b#$@ch! :D

Yeah. NHL > any other sport by far, IMO.

I hate to say it, but you're prob right. The Wings will most likely win the cup. The Pens have DEFINITELY stepped up their game. I'm really enjoying that series the most out of any right now. Btw, what's up with Thomas lately? His consistency has been atrocious. I would have thought they would win the series 4-0 against the Canes. Oh well, that's the way playoffs go I suppose...

It will be Wings vs. Pens IMO

Canes will be a solid team to watch though. Who's gonna win tonight between Chitown and the Canucks??

Probably the same thing that's been happening, for the most part. The Nucks will dominate most of the game, and the Hawks will pull some shit out of their asses, towards the end, to win the game.

These have been some of the most entertaining playoff games that I have seen in some time. This year has been AWESOME.

Hell yeah... I agree 100%. It's usually pretty obvious who is going to win, but this season is a toss up for sure.

Damnit no! we bostonians freakin deserve this one!Can we agree to disagree? I have no deep seated loyalty, but followed the Ducks when I lived 15 min away from them in SoCal (in their championship years), and have been living 30 min from the RBC Center for 5 years following the Canes (also good years).

If anyone has a team that needs its fortunes changed, I'm moving again over summer.

Actually, I'll be about the same distance away from both Blackhawks and Blues. Who has the cooler looking jerseys ;)

Whatever, you can call the Whalers anything you want if it makes you feel better :)

Blackhawks if you have to choose between the two! More history and fanboy'ism! haha... Ed Belfour = epic... Chelios even though a Wing I still regard as a famous Hawk.

I hate Crosby... but that was a nice break away in the first period.

**EDIT**

I hope everyone watch that Pens vs. Caps game... it was INSANITY! Felt like west coast basketball for awhile there just point after point

I hate Crosby...

Why is it that everyone hates crosby? I'm a huge pens fan so obviously I'm the opposite of a crosby hater, but u gotta give the guy credit for being a phenomenal player (although geno malkin is just as good if not better)

be sure to watch pens/caps game 7... do or die games are always epic :p

LETS GO PENS!

I think most people refer to Crosby as being the "habitual complainer". That's all they can really say bad about him. Crosby & Malkin are a really good duo to have on the same line. It has been great to watch those two play together.

I hope the caps can pull off the win tomorrow! It's going to be a very intense game!

Go Caps!

No one "deserves" a win. Wins and medals are for people who take them.

Why is it that everyone hates crosby?

I just hate him due to all of my co-workers loving him... You have to understand. I work in IT at a college so all the ice arena coaches and workers love Crosby... So I have to hate him just to screw with them at work ;)

Every time I watch a Pens game I am always impressed with his speed and precise shooting. But still. Its the Pens. I'm a Detroit fanboi. I can't ever say they are a good team it would be like saying Roy was a good goalie...

Grr, I'm so mad! The Pens were on top of their shit last night, as expected. Oh well, they did play pretty good. Good luck to them in the rest of the playoffs. They're going to need it.

Canes! Canes! Canes!

But since its gone to 7 games, and Boston is at home tonight, I don't have my hopes up :(

You shouldn't have had your hopes up anyway. Boston is going to run over the Canes tonight.

If it was going to be such a walk in the park for Boston, it wouldn't have gone to 7 games, and they wouldn't have lost 3-0 on their home ice in the second game.

Not saying that the Canes are going to win, but I wouldn't rule them out either.

I thought the game was pretty even overall, but the Canes dominated the ice in OT.

I think I need to find one of the black "alternate" jersey designs for when I move. I might just pick up a practice jersey - they are black.

Its awesome how 3 out of the 4 series of the round went to game 7.... such good games this year.

Canes better get ready for the igloo. Let's Go Pens!

bobafettm
05-16-2009, 06:39 PM
Oh man... This has to be the best playoffs in quite a loooong time. Wings vs. Ducks was an excellent series. Bruins... poor Bruins. But I'll give it to Canes for playing their hearts out and taking the win.

Wings vs. Hawks will be awesome just due to the history. I dont know if many of you caught the winter classic game this year at Wrigley's. It was AWESOME to watch... I'm excited for more of that action :D

and its gonna be way more awesome to see the pens get stomped on by the Wings again in the finals ;)

Don't forget the NBA playoffs. Lebron James and the Cavaliers are gonna smoke Kobie and the Los Angeles Fakers in the Finals.

05-17-2009, 12:11 AM
I can't figure out who I want to win more... I hate Kobe and the Lakers... due to just an old bitterness at the Lakers team. And well... Cavs are from Ohio and I don't know a Michigan person that is okay with an Ohio team winning anything.

My dream which is only a dream... would be for Nuggets to win it. Just to rub it in the face of Piston management watching Billups take their team for a championship.

basketball? bah. go make your own thread!

bobafettm
05-17-2009, 03:34 AM
I second that. I'm sure we all have some opinion on the NBA playoff's too.

You guys think we are gonna see any strange outcomes from this round?? I don't see the young Hawks team taking the wings at all... Nor do I see Canes taking Pens but hey. I thought Boston would walk right through them.

I guess there could be stranger.

I think we'd have to see some injuries for the Pens to lose this round.

xfuuey
05-17-2009, 04:30 AM
I don't think the outcome will be surprising. If you don't think Detroit will spank the Hawks then you're nuts. It's going to be Det & Pens battling it out at the end. I bet my left nut on it.

bobafettm
05-17-2009, 04:32 AM
I don't doubt for one second that the Wings will claim it again this year. I'm just trying to spark debate ;)

bobafettm
05-18-2009, 02:08 AM
Wow. That game was rough for Hawks today. Their first goal was lucky that Osgood wasn't even focused or something... 2nd goal where the hell Johan Franzen was going is beyond me! He let the guy just go open. But my god Hawks' goalie was on it! Too much leg play like we had with ducks. Just aim 1.5 ft above the ice and your good... Hiller at least had a MEAN right hand glove but I don't think we will have much trouble with Chitown.

Even if Kane decides to actually play some hockey next few games.

After the 1st period of the Canes/Pens game, I really thought Pens were going pummel the hell out of the Canes, but to my surprise, the Canes proved me wrong. I hope they continue the intensity that they came back with in the 2nd and 3rd periods. If they do, it'll make for a very entertaining series to watch.

I have a project crunch happening at the moment, so didn't get to watch the game ... but for some reason people are quick to write off the Canes. They are a solid team, and have been all season otherwise they wouldn't be in the semifinals.

I suspect the Pens will take the semi's, but the Canes will make them work for it.
