I've just seen this film. It's up for review this week I believe.
Thought it was okay. It's part improvised and edited (chronologically) all over the place. That makes it a bit of a mess. But since there isn't so much of a plot that's not a problem per say.. but it does make the film a bit woolly. This is Solaris/Full Frontal Soderbergh not Ocean's, or even Out of Sight, Soderbergh. Not got much else to say about it. As a small insight into the life of a "high end" hooker it was a little interesting. I wasn't bored by it but I would say you've not missed anything if you never see it. Fans of Soderbergh that are in to his aesthetic will want to check it out because it's really well shot and lit.
However.. this is much more interesting. The lead actress of 'The Girlfriend Experience' is a porn actress and the LA times have a (long) interview with her then an audience Q&A. She comes across (pun not intended) as smart and funny. Plus she knows know movies. There is talk about how she got the gig with Soderbergh, how she got into porn, French new wave, feminism etc.
