The search craigslist site, crazedlist.org, has a warning on its homepage stating that referrers can't be disabled here:

"Crazedlist allows you to search multiple craigslist.org sites at once. However in order to do so you must disable referrers in your web browser. Doing so prevents craigslist from knowing that you have come from this site and prevents them from blocking your results.
If you are unable to disable referrers you can try using the "Get RSS Feeds" feature which allows you to get an OPML file of the RSS feeds for your search instead of performing a search in the web browser. To do this, close this pop up, fill out your search, then click "Get RSS Feeds" instead of "Search".
Sorry, but as far as i know there is no way to disable referrers in Safari, so this site will not work for you.

Please try using Firefox instead"

Veronica said that referrers should be disabled even though the screen shots of crazedlist.org were taken on a Macintosh.

Does Firefox work?

Thank you.

trunolimit, if you don't have a MAC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address), how do you get online? ;)

SafariStand blocks referrers, or at least used to, now it just block referrers from localhost. Interesting.

I'll stick to Opera, the best browser on all platforms.

Try opening a few hundred tabs across 20 or so windows in Firefox and it will become clear.

Oh, and in Opera it's in a menu for quick access:

Tools->Quick Preferences->Send Referrer Information
