Okay, I know this may be a week late, but the review of wolverine for the 360 got me wondering about the quality of the wii version. I have been looking for a GoW style game (that is not MadWorld) for the wii, and was hoping this might fit the bill after hearing Jeff's comments about the game. Any one have a chance to play this?

Isnt the Wii game rated T? which must mean a big deal because the 360 version is def rated M.

I think it is rated T. I am not concerned about bloody/gory graphics, but I am looking for how the gameplay is. I don't really trust the IGN review, as the game is getting low scores from everywhere. I also don't have the option to play it on the 360/PS3, only the Wii, so that's why I was seeking out any comments on that version.

The Wii version is the same as the PS2 version, bad graphics, blurry textures(of course). Almost no blood or gore. From what i have seen it looks like a comepletey different game then the PS3/360/PC versions. I would not even compare this to near GOW style.

IGN gave it a pretty scathing review to this and the PS2 version. I think they're the same except for the fact that for the quicktime events, instead of mashing a button you wave the wiimote like a madman.

I briefly tried the PSP version, and it sounds like it might be the same as the Wii and PS2 versions - and yup, it sucks compared to the PS3 [demo].

From what I've seen, it's definitely not the same game as the 360/PS3 version. It's also by a different developer that has a track record with kid movie tie-in games, so I wouldn't compare what the TRS guys talked about to this version, completely different game.

Personally, based on the gameplay footage, between the bad hit-detection and repetition of dialogue, I wouldn't touch the game.

Thanks guys, looks like the Wii version is a steaming pile that needs to be avoided.

Then why did you get a Wii?
I don't want to start a flame war, and will say up front I'm a PC gamer and try to stay out of the console wars.
But from what I've seen the Wii is targeted as a family console, for more casual gamers using wiimotes not game-pads, if you want a GoW style game why did you go for a Wii? if you don't mind me asking. Was it just the price or did you not buy it.

The wii still has its own games that are fun just like the PC.

But this is how the war always starts. Some gamers dont see what others see.

He probably didn't think "I want a GoW style game so I'll buy a Wii." It probably went more like this. "Wow, that Wii looks neat" and then after getting it "I'd like to find some more games I'd like to play. Wonder if there's anything like GoW on it."

I fully admit that the Wii has some amazingly fun games, all my friends have them and love them, and the games look fun. I see what is fun about it but it's not targeted at the people who play GoW.
I just think all the games consoles have not found there own market, there isn't a console war anymore (to me), the Wii is marketed as a family console and COMPLETELY dominates that market, the Xbox360 is aimed at the average avid gamer and the PS3 is aimed at the rich who want a super powerful console.
I could be wrong there as I don't own any of these but know people who own each of them.
But unless you brought a Wii very close to it's release, I'm sure you could tell the sorts of games that are being made for it. Apart from Madworld and House of dead are pretty much the only adult games for it, I'm sure there are more but I don't think the Wii was ever aimed at the GoW gamer.
In the same way you would buy a PS3 for your six year old, the only kids game on that is LBP.
That's just my 2 cents (1 pence) I know there are other factors as well.

I own all 3 systems and to a point ur right there is no war really this go around IMO.

each has its own kinda reason to own.

Wii is family friendly.
360 is friend friendly.
PS3 has blu ray.

All great reasons to own each one and each system has at least one epic game.(imo)

other wise....meow

While this year has seen a massive increase in good 3rd party hard core games that are not casual crap and the wii fit/music shit ...anything that is geared towards hardcore is still a small % of Wii owners.

Just get No More Heroes and it's sequel in 2010.

Also google Dynamic slash,it's a Nintendo game that is still in the works but it's damn bloody and RE4 over the shoulder game using a female heroin and you also face huge bosses and based on Norse mythology.
Another one not released yet but coming is Kizuna ARPG and more reminiscent of Shadow of the colosus.
And last i will mention this fall while not GOW like is from the developers of Odin Sphere with a game published by Ignition and developed by vanillaware Muramasa:The demon blade.

To answer this question-
The Wii was given to me as a gift, I would have eventually gotten one anyways as I am a huge Nintendo geek. I also have been unable to afford a 360 or PS3 cause of life/family obligations. I was just hoping to find a GoW style game on the Wii, because I really enjoyed them on the PS2, and hack n' slash fighters are pretty rare on the Wii.

Also-Ryudo- Thanks for the suggestions, I have been looking forward to Murmasa since I first saw the screens with the ocean background. I also hadn't heard of Kizuna or Dynamic Slash, now I have more to look forward to.
