quick question about ms points

i recently acquired some promotional ms points. i understand if i dont use them before a certan date, they are gone. what i'm not clear on is how ms know wich points are the promo ones. for instance, i have 200 ms points, then ms gives me 200 promo points. now lets say i spend 200 points. when the date for the promo points to pop comes, will ms say i spent the promo points, and leave me be, or will they see 200 points in my account and take them?

I would assume the date would be how long you have to enter the code to aquire the points. Once they are in your point pool I think they are permanent.

unfortunitly, it states in black and white, that this is not the case. this is a paraphrase of the leagal stuff. all un-used promo points will expire on x date.

i dont have a problem with this, as free is free, except of course for my original issue of possibly losing points i paid for.

Wouldn't entering them into your system act as if you are using them?

If anything i would guess the first points you used would count as their promo points.
