Is there a SANE reason why ALL Revision 3 TiVo downloads appear to be marked as copy protected? If it's Creative Commons, I'd expect it to be open.
Any decent reason or just an oversight?
that's a function of the tivo software- when grabbing from an external source other then tuners, it seems to mark *everything* as copy protected (as there's no broadcast flag to look at to make the call.) Basically- if it doesn't know for sure a source allows the copy, it defaults to no.

It certainly could be an oversight, but certainly we could "un-oversight" it pretty quickly!
alas, it's the tivo end of things making this determination- there's no flag for us to set to "free" the video once it's been transfered to your DVR. The same thing would happen if you transfered a home movie to your DVR.
