As many of you already know, the wii released their browser this morning. I am posting this via my own wii.

When a video-page loads on revision3.com, i see the middle-frame like normal, however when i click on the video to play it, it does'nt play.

I know that this is prolly because this browser does not support flash yet, but it still makes me sad :(

I also just updated mine, but haven't had the time to try a lot out yet. I do know there is more then just flash that isn't supposed to work just yet but Nintendo just really wanted to get it out there. From what I've read, the trial (beta) period is supposed to last until about March or something. Which kinda sucks, but I like at least something now better then waiting. And now I can get it to connect at my school finally.

I tried it this morning and Rev3 stuff doesn't work but youTube does so who knows why since both use a flash based player don't there.

I wonder how rev3 does their flash then.

When I went to youtube.com for the first time, it said I didn't have flash installed, then when I went back there to show my friend how youtube didn't work, the movie loaded & played. (making me look dumb, lol)

Anyways, going back to a rev3 movie now it shows the image for the movie, then when I click on that (to play it) the image disappears, and it shows the 'back symbol', the 'pause symbol', and a 'loading bar', but it does not show the 'time', or 'sound toggle button'

I'm fairly certain it's going to be free forever. Nintendo originally wanted the wii to ship with the browser but it wasn't ready yet. The whole reason they're doing this trial period is to get something out. If it was going to come with it originally, why would they decide to charge just because it wasn't ready on time.

From what it says on the Nintendo site, it seems like it will be free to those who get it early and then they will charge for those who get it late.

"The final version of the Opera browser will be available at the end of March 2007, and will be free for all Wii owners to download through the end of June 2007. After June, users who haven’t already downloaded the Opera browser can go to the Wii Shop Channel to download it for 500 Wii Points. "

Well now it's slightly less lame. Kinda sucks they are going to charge, but as long as everything goes to plan (no alien abduction) I'll get it while it's free anyway.
