I put this in the same "why is this crap allowed to be made into a movie" bucket as Chupacabra terror.

Mega-Shark AND Giant Octopus AND Lorenzo Lamas, in the same movie. it has to be huge. I'm sure the budget is around 50 000 000$, and it is going to be this years most grossing movie. I'm looking so forward to watch it [/sarcasm]

I love the bit where the Mega Shark jumps out and eats the passenger plane............. which is either flying terribly low, or they clearly underestimated the jumping abilities of Mega Sharks

1 scene from that trailer makes me wanna punch myself in the eye.
When the shark jumps out of the water and bit the airplane that is 30,000ft in the air. That alone makes me not want to see it. Along with the horrible looking monsters and whatever reason their in a submarine with them underwater.

I'm sure it will be all explained (poorly) in this wonderful summer extravaganza of a box office laff fest. :D

I think many people are missing the point of this movie. On a different site, I read a comment that referenced the same scene and the poster wrote "what were the writers thinking when they wrote that?" The whole trailer up to that point was fairly been-there-done-that as far as that type of movie (Sci Fi Channel originals, anyone?) but it is that part of the trailer that suggests this movie might be just a little different. It moved the movie from the "meh" column to the "might be fun with friends and beer" column.
The whole point of movies like this are to be as completely ridiculous as possible. This is one of those movies that are born out of a love of the flicks featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000. I guarantee the writer tried to come up with the most outlandish situations he could think of.
I can't imagine anyone is looking at this trailer and thinking it is a movie to be taken seriously, but a frightening number of comments I've seen around the 'web suggest just the opposite. The title alone screams "stupid popcorn movie"! If that doesn't convince you, look at the cast. Lorenzo Lamas and Deborah Gibson?
I expect Razzie nominations galore for this one.

Except that MST3K made fun of terrible movies. They didn't pick movies that were specifically made to be terrible. I don't even think that genre existed until a decade ago.
It's like going out of your way to make a campy film. It doesn't work if that is the goal (e.g. see any Troma film).
In the end, that is why these films tick me off. The creators know their idea is terrible, and yet someone is willing to finance such a train wreck.
