how do I underclock an AMD processor?

I have an AMD LE-1250 in a machine I'm using with freenas. I want it to be very low power so I want some info on how to underclock it and what I should set it to. Thanks

Getting a efficient power supply is step one. Under clocking the CPU is probably the last thing to do.

I guess it depends what sort of computer it is, if it's a laptop then yeah, underclocking might help because the rest of the system will already be very efficient, but if it's a standard computer then look at other options first.
