I was invited to go out to Diggnation LIVE in NY on their last visit and it was my first time hearing about Diggnation and it was pretty cool to see the hosts (whom I didn't know much at the time) in person. Nowadays, I am a tremendous fan and I will be there in NY to watch the show again and hopefully catch Kevin and Alex. This is going to be 'epic'.

Im looking forward to seeing a live diggnation once again. It's exacty one year since the last one. Maybe I will bring the zune I won and try to get the guys to re-sign it.... the original sigs wore off.

By the way... I am hosting a mini-nerdtacular that weekend (@extralife inspired). If any out of state peeps need a place to crash.... hit me up on twitter.

I'll definitely be at the Webster Hall Show. Went to the last live show in Brooklyn which was a bit of a pain to get to but was such a blast.

We should plan a meetup before or after the show bc there are a TON of great bars in that area.

Was there an age limit specified? I turn 18 next month and I can catch a train to NYC.

joedubbs
05-20-2009, 02:58 PM
It'll probably be 18 and over. Webster Hall serves alcohol.

At the Brooklyn show they made two seperate lines, people that were over 21 and people that weren't. They let the 21+ folk in first. Webster Hall isn't a bar like the last venue though so I'd imagine 18+.

I'll be visiting Boston from the 21st to the 9th and am considering catching a train/bus into New York for this. I've never been to a live diggnation before or NY ... how hard is it gonna be to find my way there and back from wherever a bus leaves me?

My friend and I plan on going to the Webster Hall show and we were wondering if we have to pay to get in?

Thanks!

The entire crew of Hak5 will be at the event on the 4th as well.

Judging by last year's event I would anticipate this being another enormous event.

Looking forward to seeing everyone that can make it!

Yes! Finally I'll make it to a live show. I travel constantly for work and finally they intersected perfectly. I missed NY last year by 1 week, and London by a day, I left 1 freakin day before the live London show!!! Well, I did get to see TRS at comic-con so I'm not sure how much I can complain. Regardless, I'm there for sure!

I missed the one last year, and I'm going to miss this one too! My sister's graduation is that day so there's no way I can make it up there. Why couldn't they have graduation on the weekend like a normal school? I'd love to come hang out with other Diggnation fans because there's really not many that I'm friends with around here. Plus it would be awesome to see a live show. Meetup on June 5 too? :)

Super bummed. I'm making a promise to myself that the next time they come within 4 hours driving distance to me, I'm going no matter what.

Official Announcement and Update on the Revision3 Blog (http://revision3.com/blog/2009/05/27/revision3-hits-e3-nyc/)

I hope everyone who can make it to Webster Hall comes out - it's a huge venue and we're psyched to fill it!

Also - as you may have heard on this week's show - you could win a chance to watch the taping at 30 Rock on Friday 6/5 - go to revision3.com/nycontest (http://www.revision3.com/nycontest) for more info - good luck!

Hey, for those of you that need a place to stay in NYC, my GF found a GREAT deal on a hotel! New suites for $159/night, includes a flat panel TV, swanky room, and a near by location to the venue! Only 1.5 miles by foot or 1.7 miles by car!

Check out this link: http://www.travel-ticker.com/details.jsp?inputId=tbug-details&slotid=1&cid=ae113d2d54e5092f314f22e17be9dea4&tid=T-TTK-0148&zid=Z-1102&encId=8tm1kf1a0d2enckhhsbc&subLinePosId=2&did=D0401&tracking=show_me_btn

It's raining like crazy. I hope it stops soon. it would suck to stand out in line in the rain.

don't forget to follow http://twitter.com/diggnyc . and please tweet your asses off once you get there so we all know whats going on. I know it would have saved fans a lot of hassle last year because not everyone got in.

it was cool. lots of great people. a couple of cute girls too. the only thing that sucked is waiting for the show to start. they literally had us standing packed inside a sweaty room for hours. every time hands went cheer I almost lost it. I know we're nerds but deodorant is for everybody.

oh and There was this really hot girl that was standing behind me all night. I saw her when I was coming from the bathroom on the stairs also. If you know who you are god please hit me up.

That happened last time too. Standing outside's not so bad since you're outside (so the place isn't overheated with all the bodies) but you can move around a bit too...stretch the legs, crouch, lean against a wall, etc. Once you're inside, it's sardine city and you're pretty much standing in the same position and are unable to move for HOURS.

Rev3, next time please don't bring us in until just before the warm-up act is ready to go. We were allowed in at around 7pm and the warm-up act didn't start until maybe 8:30. To simulate this, go stand in a closet filled with guys who haven't showered in at least 24 hours. Also, bring a boom box and turn it all the way up. Then all of you can watch a short video loop over and over.

If anyone who wasn't able to make it wants to simulate the experience, that would work. After an hour and a half, continue standing in the closet, watch the episode, and have someone next to you whistle directly in your ear every time people cheer.

They brought us in becuase they were worried that it might be raining outside. don't wanna get us all wet. were you in the line earlier? did u see all the people actually did for a klondike bar? (well, more for the vip seats.) thank god. i didn't do any of their act. i just scratch myself.

Yeah, I enjoyed the show for sure, the standing around and waiting wasn't terrible for me. The worst part was the drink prices. $7 for a warm bud?!?!? Are you kidding? I understand that you get the venue for free and they want to make it up in Alcohol, but I would've almost preferred to pay $10 or w/e to get in and then have reasonably priced drinks. Best part of NY is that you just have to stay sober enough to stumble back onto a subway (or if you're really hammered, a cab). But, it was fun none the less.

06-06-2009, 12:18 AM
Man I had a blast! It was pretty much a sausage fest in there, but they do a really good job at putting a great all-around experience together!

Haha I got pretty decent from just getting free drink tickets. The squarespace girls were going around offering them for dancing or whatever, I'd just do whatever dumb thing I felt like and get a free drink! Plus the girls were super fun and pretty cute.

Met lots of cool people there, the digg nation rocks!

your spot on with that closet analogy. but you forgot to mention that the music was really bad. it took everything in me to keep from pelting the DJ in the head with the deck of cards they handed out.

PS at these types of shows don't hand out any shwag that the crowd can throw and cause damage. as soon as I threw a card on stage everyone started bombing the stage with shit.

I was thinking next time I'll drive out super early and park my car near the front of the line. I have a power inverter and we can set up some laptops and have a lan party. play us some counter strike or even bust out the old school street fighter. we can have a tourney loser gives up their spot in line. sound cool?

I drove from Canada and stayed the night in a motel in NJ, then drove to NYC (and my car over heated 3 times in bumper to bumper traffic)

then we went to the wrong location when I searched online for the address I got the address in Brooklyn

we walked around Brooklyn all day looking for something cool, the best we found was a Target where my friend found a Rankor that is exclusive to Target (which we don't have in Canada)

I got blisters all over my feet and was wearing sandals, so I stopped and bought some slip on air walks but had no socks on so my ankes started to bleed and I now have a blood soaked pair of airwalks to remember the trip by

we were there (at the wrong location) around 7:15 then I found it they were directions from last year, and I freaked out, but we drove to Webster Hall

but we got in no problem got close to the front and met Kev and Alex after the show so good time

THEN MY CAR OVER HEATED REALLY BADF ON THE WAY HOME IT TOOK 8 HOURS to get home UGH!

sounds like you should have gotten those free drinks instead of those german dudes. whats sad is that you had the misfortune of spending the day in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan.

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time. ...but not being stuck standing shoulder-to-shoulder with so many other people for such a long time before the show starts would make the experience much better.

As for the music, none of it was my style, but I figured it must be someone's style... I felt really bad for the post-show acts though. Both last year and this year, nobody seemed to give a damn. I would like to suggest trying something different next year...either a different genre of music (80's cover band?) or something completely different (comedian? improv show?)

I could do my popeye impression for about an hour after the show. If that's not entertainment i don't know what is.
