I have no idea what Speculative Fiction Podcasting is, but as long as it's not the Darwin Awards, I'll vote TRS!

This award was founded back in late 2005/early 2006 by a small group of very prominent authors and screenwriters who jumped into Podcasting and Video podcasting early on. The first year they put out the Parsecs, 2006, it was all mainly for Speculative Fiction, with some small exceptions. The awards have grown in categories since, they now encompass video podcasting, science, news, and some other categories. All of which have to be distributed via a podcasting feed to qualify.

The Parsecs are considered to be a pretty high honor, because they are NOT voted on by a public vote, these are more like the Academy system that the Oscars are given out through. There is a committee who judges and comes up with the finalists, and then another who makes the final decisions on who wins each category.

Each year the awards are given out at a gig ceremony during the Worlds Largest Pop-Culture convention, Dragon*Con as part of the Podcasting and New Media track of programming.

So, looking at the calendar, this year the award winners will be announced at the ceremony on September 5th or 6th. The final schedules for the con don't get put in stone until around the end of July.

I'll be at Dragon*Con this year so if the guys win and can't make it, I'll be glad to accept the award on their behalf.

I hope they can make it, at least ONE of them.

Reminds me, I should e-mail the lady who seems to be in charge of the Rev 3 booking type things.

From what I gather, all the road trip type live show or other appearances, are handled by a lady who works at Rev3.

Unless I have been mis-informed.
