Could Diggnation really be back? Two solid episodes in a row (even with filming them back to back). Not as many tangents or anything this week, but still a few good ones. Decent stories this week, but definitely not as good as last week. Overall it wasn't bad.

Also upset about the live Diggnation in NY. They're finally coming back to my area, but that's the night of my sister's high school graduation so I can't go! Or maybe I can, it's just my sister, she's not all that important right? ;)

maybe put in there some less popular but more interesting stories from Digg. I think the killer on this point is that by the second episode all the stories are really old. Hell, by the first episode if it was a big story I had already seen in a few days before and don't care to hear much more.

Revision3 is killing me with the quiet audio in all their videos. The intro is perfectly fine at the volume and as soon as the show starts it's like someone is lowering it.

Every other podcast from other people sounds fine.

Gamefly sucks anyway, they take a week to send a game. They only have like 4 or 5 distribution centers. Back in an older TRS episode they all (or just dan) trashed on it. I was surprised to see Gamefly sponsor TRS.

I understand they are busy, but its their job to make the show. That's what they get paid for (or at least alex does... i think i heard kevin doesnt get paid, but he does because he founded rev3 and probably owns a large portion of it). If it was a hobby like it used to be, I would say fine. However when its making you money you do what needs to be done. If I told my boss I'm going to squeeze two weeks worth of work into one resulting in my 2nd week's work being mediocre, I think I would be fired. I dont understand why it was fine all these years for them to do a show a week and now all of the sudden it's too much. Again, I understand they're busy, but IMO "they're busy" doesn't cut it when they're getting paid (and probably very well).

also its insulting our intelligence to change clothes and try to make it seem like its something its not. we can clearly tell that its shot back to back and it seems cheesy that they change clothes and try to fool us. all of the tekzilla dailies for the week are shot on the same day and they wear the same clothes for all of them.

I'm going to have to agree about the back-to-back tapings. I understand that Kevin and Alex are busy. If it's really necessary, then I'm okay with it, but there is no need to fake it by changing clothes. Just say you're going to have an extra long episode with the release split over 2 weeks and be honest with people.

One other small critique: I see no reason for the "coming up on this episode" segment at the beginning. This is a show with 2 people sitting on a couch and throwing that at the beginning feels completely unnecessary and weird. One of the main reasons I shy away from many regular TV shows is all the trivial filler content. While "coming up after the break" crap may be important in keeping the viewer's attention on cable TV, none of that is useful or suitable for internet video. The content of the episode is outlined below the video, and that's enough.

Let me end by saying that I really do love the show. I'm just trying to offer a little constructive criticism. :) Keep up the good work, and don't forget to read the forums every once in a while.

This show was hilarious!! The whole show didn't have as much tech that it usually does which kind of bummed me out, but the humor definitely made up for it. Now that Lost is off the air until next year I guess Diggnation will be my new Wednesday night show.

Kevin is running a HUGE internet phenom, Alex does two other shows and a variety of other engagements, and they aren't in the same city....You are right, if the content is slacking and it is because they get exhausted, they need to fix it. But I would, as well as many others I imagine, argue that both of the episodes that they shot that day were legit and quality humor.

Keep up the good work, and don't forget to read the forums every once in a while.

Not sure about Kevin, but I know Alex pops his head in every once in a while. May not post...but he's reading.

Yeah this is bringing back the good ol' days. I think lots of the "down time" was from sponsors pressuring them to not be themselves. Maybe because Digg hit the masses they felt like they had to tone it down or something.

Been watching Diggnation since the start and like many of the people on this forum felt that over the last few months that it's been going downhill. Almost got to the stage where I was going to stop watching it. Thankfully the last couple of episodes have felt like they are back on track; more beer, more tangents and less sponsorship. Just hope it continues like this.

And yes, Kevin was quite naive about the ATM scams, in Europe it happens quite frequently and people are becoming a lot more cautious when getting there money out, well most of them.

eh... this was an ok ep.. here's a thought for the crew.. when doing 2 eps back to back... do your Digg stories and emails the 1st ep and the 2nd ep. just hang out w/ the cams rolling.. get Hippie and Prager out front w/ ya... playing Quarters.. snacking on some munchies.... I'm sure w/ the laptops around you'll still be talkin about stuff you saw on the net... and you can add the page/graphics in Post.
I dont really care about the Digg aspect of the show (altho I know Kevin and company wants to promote the site). By now we all know about the site and either use it or (like me) dont.
I remember when it was just an audio file of Kev and Alex just hanging out. BTW... crazy about that was they had the audio of the dog growling and I was "WTF, is that about?" then they came out w/ the video. Must have reshot the 1st few eps over again cause some of the stories in their intro werent even discussed til many eps later.
Do a show from the kitchen or the BBQ where Alex and Hippie can whip up some Ctrl-Alt-Tofu or something.
You dont need to be pinned down to the couch to talk about stuff.
I'll still watch the show but just wanted to throw out some thoughts.

I've got to agree with the comment about Kevin and Alex changing shirts. It's painfully obvious when they shoot 2 episodes at a time. If the quality of the 2nd episodes shot stay as high as this one, then I'm okay with them continuing with the 2 at a time thing. Thank you for the great episode, I know it's hard to always be upbeat and on point, I know it's hard to have the passion to make the show a success like when it first started; but it happens with most of your viewers as well and that's why we turn to the show, and why many posters are so eager for the show to return to greatness

Two great episodes are what we want, it's not the shirts, or the introduction. Although with back to back shows it's hard to find something to talk about other than the stories, and they could miss a phenomena, like when digg pulled the dvd encryption key story. If that occurred and it was 3 weeks before Kevin and Alex shot a response.........it would be embarrassing for us all.

I'm not too fussed about them shooting 2 episodes back to back if they are done with good levels of enthusiasm. Yes, it's nice to see them talking about a story that you've seen a few days ago on Digg but it's not the podcast to see for the latest news. I view it for the fun stuff; off beat stories, strange tangents and good levels of drunkenness (why is the beer so important?). It doesn't work when it's chock full of sponsors and (usually) Kevin isn't giving it his full attention. I hope that has now passed.

I'm perfectly fine with the back to back filming as long as it means I get my weekly diggnation episode every week. I understand that the guys might need some time off from time to time or they have other obligations that may interfere with the show.

Honestly, I'm just surprised they have been able to churn these out every week so far. Even if it is just two guys hanging out and shooting the breeze that could become tedious work if you weren't committed to it.

Thats true... The magnets they put in fingers are relatively weak though. Not sure if they would be strong enough to do damage.

They missed the key point to people putting magnets in their fingers though... its to be able to feel EM fields from wires with electricity running through them, power packs, etc. I've also seen some pretty gross pictures of people's fingers if the magnet loses the protective coating it has and your body starts to break down the magnet. Not something I would want...

That said I cannot believe how niave Kevin is about ATM thefts. Just goes to show ya that he is a software guy not hardware or both. Most ATM's have a standardized interface. The only ones that don't are the actual bank/credit union branch locations and even then its pretty standardized.

There are only 3-5 different molds, so yes kevin it is pretty easy to obtain one. If you could buy a replacment key for someone else's car online with a simple submission of the VIN # which is publicaly displayed on all cars or buy the radar switching devices that allow you to change traffic lights, why wouldn't it be easy to buy one of these?

I agree. The cops were just taking the easy way out. 3 big, completely sober cops can't take down one average-sized drunk wizard to put cuffs on him? He probably just saw it as an opportunity to use his shiny zappy toy. Even if they did need to use it, which they didnt, you don't need to shoot him with it when physical contact is possible, and there was no need to do it for an extended period of time.

Kevin, Don't comment on Police arrest tactics unless you know what you are talking about. Tasers only last for 5 seconds with each trigger pull, the "contact" method you prefer is useless. Get four of your rev3 buddies and recreate the wizard scenario, see how easy it is to arrest someone who doesnt want to go to jail. Tasers DO NOT kill people or cause heart attacks like you say, people were on drugs in every taser death documented. Tasers lessen injuries to suspects and officers, a documented fact. PS - if you want to get tased I could arrange it, you will be amazed how quickly you recover and there are no lasting effects.
