As you can clearly see, we've made some not so subtle changes to our web site. With such a dramatic change, I am sure that there are some bugs that we might have missed during testing. We would really appreciate it if you guys and gals let us know as you uncover them.

When reporting a bug, please include the at least the following:

1. Operating System
2. Web Browser
3. Browser Plugins/Extensions if any
4. What settings you have made to the browser
5. Flash version if it is a player problem
6. What you were doing when the problem occurred
7. Steps to reproduce the problem.

Thanks.

I like the new design. I like the forum changes, too. Especially the brighter color font for the default text (although changing the color doesn't seem to work anymore).

However, it still crashes Firefox 3 when I go to Tekzilla's episode 88 page. Click here for more details (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28240).

1. Operating System

WinXP SP2 (all critical updates installed)

2. Web Browser

Firefox v3.0.10

3. Browser Plugins/Extensions if any

Many, but doubtful the problem since Dailies continue to work fine.

4. What settings you have made to the browser

Again, Dailies work fine.

5. Flash version if it is a player problem

Flash v10.0.22.87 (latest version as of today)

6. What you were doing when the problem occurred

Just waiting for the video to start playing.

7. Steps to reproduce the problem

a) From the main page, hover the mouse over the "Shows" drop-down box at the top.

b) Select "Tekzilla" from the list.

c) On the resulting page, click the green "Watch Now" button.

d) Crash.

****

BTW, I did NOT start two topics in this forum. The two threads currently shown in here; one was the topic starter, the other was a reply to it. Somehow they were split into two separate threads.

I keep receiving the following error when I browse the Rev3 forums at work (IE 7.0.6001.18000; running on Windows Vista -- I use Firefox at home.)

Internet Explorer cannot open Internet site:
http://revision3.com/forum/... <html for the non-loading page>

Operation aborted.

The "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage" screen then pops up. If I click the back button, the page displays normally (although occasionally repeating the error noted above).

It's more of a pain than anything else, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

There was a new page added for a Film Riot cast with a similar URL recently:

http://revision3.com/filmriot/filmriot-cast

It was probably a fluke related to that. Let me know if it pops up again.

Umm, just wondering if this is a problem for anyone else? As of last night and tonight (7/22/09 & 7/23/09) no of the rev3 shows are loading for me. I click play and the green loading dots just blink for hours. Two days ago I watched a few TRS eposides in HD with no problems. Anyway, thanks.

as of 7/23/09 i can no longer load any revision3 videos.
like bdsmith1981, it seems to load forever with the green dots. there also seems to be something effecting my mouse pointer, causing it to flicker while the video is loading.
it should also be noted that all other flash websites work flawlessly. I tried reinstalling flash by first uninstalling with the adobe tool and reinstalling after a cold boot, but to no avail.

1. Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit sp2
2. Web Browser: Firefox 3.5.1
3. Browser Plugins/Extensions if any: adblock plus 1.1, copy link text 1.3.2, foxtab 1.2, google redesigned 0.3, google preview 3.22, ietab 1.5, personal menu 4.2, stylish 1.0.5, tabscope 0.2.2.11, tabsopenrelative 0.4, weave 0.4.0

4. What settings you have made to the browser: none?
5. Flash version if it is a player problem: 10.0.22.87
6. What you were doing when the problem occurred: trying to watch a video on Tekzilla
7. Steps to reproduce the problem: open any page with a video player on it, and it fails to load. mouse flickers for 10-20 seconds at first, then goes back to normal.

my machine is a hp xw6200 workstation with dual 3.4xeon processors with hyper-threading enabled , 3 gig of ram, sound blaster x-treme gamer sound card, zotac 8800gt, linksys wmp54g wireless adapter. all with the latest drivers, and windows updates.

it might also be worth noting that the flash slideshow at http://revision3.com/ does still work for me

It sounds like it may simply be a bandwidth issue... those true HD streams use up a lot of resources, and there's not really a way around that. Have you tried switching back to the normal "high quality" streams instead of the full-HD stream? How do those run?

If you're having problems with the videos playing in FireFox, you'll need to set an exception for our site in your ad blocking add-ons, or temporarily disable them.

Specifically, we have discovered that AdBlock Plus sees our flash player's JavaScript library as an advertisement script and disables it, which causes the green dots problem since the Flash Player can't communicate with the webpage without that.

Good call, this solves the problem.

it is also possible to add filter exceptions to allow the player to work and still block ads

Links in Opera 10. I know it's beta but I'd figure I'd throw it on here just in case. For whatever reason links just stop working after a while on the forums. I can click them but nothing happens. This is my main browser and other sites work fine, I only have trouble with the Rev3 forums. When they stop working I have to reload, copy link/paste/go, or open in a new window/tab.

How exactly did you do that? I am relatively new to adblockplus and was just using the "allow rev 3" green sign. This is a much better aesthetic you have achieved. Curious how where in adblock you put it. Running FF 3.5.2

So are the admins purposely blocking streaming if we are using adblock or is it just a bug? I have no problems watching streaming vids at other sites with it turned on.

I have to refresh the page every time I want to click on anything and I had to use Firefox to even register to post this.Install the AdSweep ad blocker (http://www.adsweep.org/). Using Operas inbuilt image blocking does part of the job, but the scripts that launch the images still run - and THEY are what are screwing up Opera users. The AdSweep script is awesome and make this (and other) sites far more usable.

Unlike the FF plugins that do a similar job, AdBlock does not interfere with playing the Flash versions of the videos.

After watching Web Zeroes, I selected the Patron Train episode of Diggnation form the selection of episodes to watch that appeared at the bottom of the player. When the episode began, the segment markers from the previously watched show ( Web Zeroes) were still visible. This happened with an episode of Tekzilla that I was trying to watch as well.

Whenever I download any episode of TRS in mp4 format (large or small) and open it in iTunes, it plays fine until about 9-10 minutes through, at which point it just stops. If I try watching it on my iPod, it stops at the same point in the video, hesitates, and boots me back to the Videos menu.

Hi,
I am well lets face it brand new to revision 3. I used to watch the guys on tech tv well that was a few yrs back now, and have since started taking a compute science degree at a community college..... (yes I know) I am extremely fascinated by everything they talk about and lets face it computers in general. I was able to watch the show (tekzilla) no problems at first ran smooth and in its entirety. Now It wont even load. I was wondering if anyone could help with suggestions for this, also they had mentioned tracert would show you why your video might be downloading slowly...... brand new but willing to learn, eager to learn..... cro

This weekend I went to the Revision 3 site looking to watch some Tekzilla. I instead got redirected to http://mstopantispy.cn and I recieved a popup saying..
"Warning!! Your personal computer needs to install antivirus software! Antivir can perform..." And a fake AV scan happened giving me a bogus message that I have multiple worms infecting my PC (this happened the 1st time, the next couple of times it happened I killed the browser in Task Manager at the popup). Since my PC was reformatted / rebuild the day prior I know this was complete B.S. (that and common sense concerning these type of things).

I also just got this at work.
Since going to Tekzilla is a part of my morning routine, please, please, please check this.

You guys may have been hacked.. maybe. Like I said this happened at work and at home on a newly built PC.

Again, very annoying (only way to safely kill is to goto Task-Manager & kill all the browsers processes).

Thank you in advance for addressing this.

Having the same issues here. I had a similar (or may be the same) problem with one of my websites. Look for a scrange <script> code in you files.

The redirect happens only once until IP changes as far as i know.

Also I am having problems with with using a site on Opera (on Ubuntu and on Win7). Could not write a message here on the forums and had to switch to Mozilla for that. It allows me to write for a few soconds and then kinda hangs. (Probably also problems cause by javascript)

And on the main page (again on Opera) the slider and js in general hang until i click "reload" and "stop" instantly. Then the slider works and the site works like it should.

I have mentioned it in the forums several times, but grab a copy of AdSweep for Opera. It will fix the issue.

Hi

I'm using firefox on a Ubuntu 9.10 install. When I fullscreen the rev3 programs in my browser I see a lot of flickering from a grey box with some info about the part of the program I'm watching. Anyone else got this bug?

Just letting you know that your account-specific RSS feed customization is not working; when you check off the boxes, normally when you click save, the site reports that the show preferences were successfully saved. However, if you select any of the boxes under the category of App Judgment, such as Android or iPhone -- whether in combination with the App Judgment check box or just by itself -- clicking save gives an error, saying the site couldn't save the customization.

Yes... I have this exact same problem. In fullscreen mode it flickers nonstop with the show description in the upper left hand corner.

I am running Mint 8 (Helena) and I've had this problem with Firefox (3.0, 3.1, 3.5) using Adobe's flash 10.0 & 10.1.

I selected my favorite shows to download using a Personalized Feed, setting the quality preference at HD - 30fps.

However, Landline TV has no such option for its feed, therefore, it doesn't show in my personal feed. I'm back to using individual feeds in the mean time, utilizing the HD feed for Landline TV.

The personal feed should include the next highest quality, if the quality preferred is not available.

rylab
03-17-2010, 09:28 PM
Sapittman: yes, we are working on either adding 30fps encodes, or including an option to allow the personal feeds to fallback to a lower quality for shows where the selected quality is not available. Thanks for the feedback.

Get 400 - bad request error on every video download on the site it seems.

Noticed it lastnight and thought maybe the various TRS encodes just hadn't been uploaded yet. Tried again this morning, same error, tried different shows, encodes, ones I've downloaded before, etc.. same error.

Noticed a slight bug in the 'Manage Your Favorite Shows' section of the profile.

After selecting the main Tekzilla checkbox (so that both Weekly and Daily is checked) and submitting, the resulting page has the Weekly box unchecked. There are no ill-effects with the custom feed, but more so a display error.

This also seems to affect Food Mob as well.

Problem occurs when trying to play a video

When I load a page with a video on Revision3 my whole browser hangs up for a while and eventually it says the Shockwave Flash plugin has crashed. The video still plays fine afterwards. Also it doesn't happen every time, but quite frequently. The problem may be caused by some advertisement. I don't have any ad block plugins installed. So far my only workaround has been to just watch Rev3 content on youtube.

I have the latest flash player and the browsers are updated . i use windows xp sp3 2 gb ram , proc 2x 2.1 ghz and a n 8500 gt card and i know that my system is not the problem :)).
