Just to let you guys know the use a better nihm batterys keeps the gp2x from crashing.
Something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817173025 should work great. Its just a good idea to stick with the name brand batteries. They seam to have a lower internal resistence.
And all in all a great review :)

We discovered the importance of a good set of batteries. On shoot day, the rechargeables were dead and we resorted to Alkalines. We couldn't boot off brand new Energizers. With Duracell we got a couple hours before it started crashing again. Cool device though (if you're into emulators).

There are alot of homebrew and a few commercial games in the works right now so its not just a emulation machine :)

Use 2500mAh batteries and the crashing will stop. The unit needs quite a bit of power, but with good rechargables it is more stable and lasts longer.
Regular Alkaline batteries don't offer the same amount of power as good rechargables do.
Same goes for photo equipment, my Sony Cybershot DSC-P73 doesn't last long at all on regular Alkalines, with good 2500+ mAh it's a whole lot better.

There's quite a few commercial games coming out for the gp2x, some with pretty high quality gameplay and graphics. Here's a screenshot of Payback a new and upcoming GTA-like game for the gp2x
