It's somewhat corny and the sfx are kinda weird by today's standards, but it's still kinda fun. Cool premise, likable characters. My brother and I used to watch it faithfully back in the 1970's. I just watched a couple episodes and it's still fun. I got them all set to be recorded on the DVR.

I tried watching. The acting is just too bad and the set looks like it was made in someones basement.
;)

The special effects are just weird as heck but they probably had next to no budget and it was 1974 after all. The father's acting isn't too bad, and the girl who played Holly is an OK actress.

I didn't remember how unbelievably bad it was. It does bear mentioning though that it was a Saturday morning low budget Syd and Marty Kroftt show--for all intents and purposes a live action "cartoon." But Goddd almighty!

I saw that the other day. I guess this is where the movie with Will came from?

I used to love the series that was on in the 90s. Never saw the 70s version, but I'd like to see it. Does anyone know if the movie a mix of the 70s and 90s series or is it mostly based around the 70s?

According to its Wikipedia entry it's only based on the 1970's series.
