I think its a ripoff that apple expects you to buy quick time pro just so you can do simple things that every other player lets you do for free.

one example is the ability to save a file instead of only being able to play it in your browser. all you have to do is (if your on fire fox) go to tools >add-ons then disable quicktime and when you type in the url you'll get the option of saving it to your computer.

there is absolutely no reason to buy quicktime pro. I hate you apple

you don't have to disable quicktime to save videos in firefox. either left click on the link to the media file and click "save as" or once your on the page with the media go to Tools -> Page Info -> Media -> then scroll down to find the file your intereseted in then click saves as. Also there's an extension for firefox called Media Converter which allows you to download media and convert it to whatever you want.

Thanks for that trunolimit - my connection is a bit slow, this will help a lot.

the problem I had was that it wasn't a clickable link. I had to copy and paste the URL. every time I did that quick time would pop up and play it like it owned the place. I'm sure I can take it off as my default browser media player but I'm ashamed to say I don't know how and don't care enough to figure it out.
