Hey all,
A big UK fan here, someone who has watched episodes but doesn't post etc... I was getting a bit bored of diggnation over the past few months, seemed to be a lot of "inside jokes" that I wasn't allowed to be in on, too much tea-talk etc... but it really seems like the guys have got back on track and it feels like I'm watching yé oldé Diggnation again!
Just wanted my voice to be heard so that they know that the fans (not just the forumites) have noticed!

Even over the last couple of months or whatever when people were getting a little bored of the episodes, I still enjoyed them, but I have to agree,
the last few episodes have been really enjoyable and honestly, I think the beer does help! I'm not saying that they need it,
but I think the episodes that I enjoy the most are the ones where they have a drink at the same time.
Loved the use of the robo-keg, and that it had some more on screen hippie action too :p

I definitely agree about them drinking usually makes a better episode. robo keg had me literally laughing so loud my roomate came in worried.

These feel like the episodes from when I started watching (episode 59), to about the early one hundreds. The tangents have always made the show great. Diggnation has always been consistently good, but the past few weeks have been excellent. If they can keep this up it is truly a new old day in the nation that always diggs.

Totally agree with you guys. Diggnation was getting a little bit short and boring, but now it's awesome (once again). Revision3 is actually doing a pretty nice work addressing our "concerns".

I think we need a shit-show episode to get things completely back on track. I know not all people like the really drunk episodes but a lot of us do (i'd say its half and half). Every so often we'd get a reno-like episode where they think it would be a good idea to put a giant penis on a 100 inch lcd (yes, they did). I always thought they were needed once in a while to keep things interesting.
Drinking is part of diggnation. Why fight it? I'm not saying they have to be smashed every episode, but actually DRINK once in a while rather than having just a beer or two... just to keep things interesting.

As a long time viewer, I would have to agree. It felt like half of the show was sponsors, and the other half were these inside jokes we couldn't be let in on.
"Oh yeah! Haha, that was the coolest thing that has ever happened, and will never happen again. It is a story I would absolutely love to share with everyone...but we can't talk about it on camera."
These last two have been pretty good - they need to start testing weird ass beers again. Rev3 looses a lot of its shine when Diggnation starts feeling like the cash cow it is.

I agree with you guys. The past few episodes have been really funny and entertaining. Please keep it up, drink (and sample) more beer, and keep going off on hilarious tangents. Thx. :D

Bit agreement here too. It got to the point that watching an episode was just...dull. So I did stop watching for a while. But the last several have gone back to the humor and fun that hooked me in the first place. Plus it's the only way I hear about what's on Digg since I quite going there.

well, it's also a problem that stemmed from shooting too many episodes at once.
it seems like they forgot that it was a podcast that, albeit funny and aloof, was still a bit of commentary on current events in the tech-world.
and it felt, not to put too fine a point on it, that Kev & Alex were out of touch with their source material when something happened in tech and it would come up on diggnation almost weeks after it was up on digg.
I guess my own decision to follow the show will come up this week and see if they talk about The Pirate Bay being sold or if it was another episode they shot two weeks ago just because it was easier and treated it like just another "job".

I've been really busy for a while and I haven't had the chance to watch Diggnation in ages (I think I missed around 50 weeks of it :( ), but I started watching the last five in a row and I'm hooked again. Best show on the internet.

Don't forget, Kevin's in China this week, I'm not sure for how long, or how long ago the episode for this week was recorded.

I would agree to a point that sometimes the offtrack tangents are a little boring to the point sometimes you have no idea what they are talking about. However I have been watching Diggnation since episode 1 years back and if you watch that episode and where Diggnation is now it has exploded into a hugely popular show. I have come to like their not so "business like" way of the show all the time and it is more relaxed and casual, especially the drinking adds a good touch. Back in the early days of show of Rev3's shows Kevin hosted more of them and one I enjoyed was thebroken (with Dan) where I think the whole beer drinking while a show took off. But that was show was short lived :(. I believe Kevin and Alex are at their best now, especially since their TechTV and early days. Great job and great show guys.
