View Full Version : Rev3 losing and gaining shows
Does anyone know what the criteria is for Revision3 dropping or picking up a show is?
Because it seems to me when the economy was good (remember that long ago) they dropped: EpicFu, WineLibraryTV, Internet Superstar and PopSiren.
And now the economy is bad they have just picked up: JV's World, Co-Op, ROFL and Film Riot (I know Co-Op was picked up before the others).
Now I'm not complaining, I love Co-Op and Film Riot and watch ROFL when I'm bored (it's not bad) and although I like EpicFu it is still going after Revision3 so I don't mind about that.
I was just wondering what the criteria was for Revision3 dropping shows was and why they picked up new show after the dropped the old ones not before?
Anyone else find it a little weird?
P.S. I'm not complaining EpicFu was the only one of the old shows I actually watched and I love all the news shows, just curious.

Download numbers. Its the same as a regular network in that "ratings" dictate what stays and what goes.

Yes, I get that if they where going to lose some shows the ones with the lowest ratings would go but at what point did they say "we need to lose X shows", or where the ratings just that bad?
Also how did they know the new shows they picked up would have better ratings, I would have added the new shows and if any of them were received badly *cough*jvsworld*cough* then they would not continue it and keep one of the old shows.

Actually it wasn't good the economy was bad then, that is one reason they released talent and stopped the distributing of off site shows. Lack of viewers is just another reason.

JV's World was received badly, but it succeeded in that people noticed. What they're most concerned about avoiding is utter indifference. Hate can generate downloads while apathy won't.

Yes, but JV has his own audience, and we don't really know if they are downloading his show en masse or not.

Winelibrary TV did too though. A huge audience. Just saying.

True, that would be a part of why Rev 3 would keep him despite the friction between JV and the established community.

Yeah all about ratings still, I really like that they have been picking up new shows and different types at that and looking forward to more good news from rev3.
Loving Film Riot already and dont see myself disliking it lol

Check the dates (I remember that specific day fairly well... well.. not the night part so much..) -- the economy wasn't "good"..
Also, not every show has a uniform contract, that's very important to remember.

It can't JUST be numbers can it?
I'm sure sponsor's response has something to do with it. Like how many promo codes get used?

perhaps... It's probably a lot of things that ultimately come down to the number of viewers per episode (aka sponsor money) did not justify the time and effort spent on the show.

You're right I remember it being longer ago then we thought.

I was distracted by Daisy Whitneys dulcet tones to remember any numbers, but when the download comes er, down, I'll review for ya. But she got the numbers directly from his highness Jlo. Sadly, She didn't let shwood get a word in edgewise about it.

Um, yes! What do ya' think, I'm stupid?
Don't answer that... please.
But I don't care that it's gone because it's still going on epicfu.com (although not as often) so the show hasn't gone it has just gone from Revision3.
I never really understood how TV ratings worked. I always assumed It was done in through critics and not the general audience.
If I see a show that I like, I would like to rate it somehow (similar how YouTube ratings work).
I'm actually surprised this site doesn't embrace something similar to YouTube, though I do use NoScript so I may not be seeing it because of it. I understand how even that might not be accurate since not everyone bothers to rate and there's multiple ways to get the content.

Darn it, harddrive died right after it downloaded. Check for latest twim your selves, I guess. I got other issues, but it's toward the end of the show.
