Being a guy without one camera in my house currently I would be interested in you guys posting the source video in which you edit as a download for people to try to recreate the ideas you portray. Although I do understand it is your intention to get people out there to do it themselves I just thought for me and maybe many others it would be a way to achieve the skills to edit if one was not so interested in doing the whole deal.
Personally I am interested in the methods in which you create these effects in reality and also in the editing software but for me I would first like to obtain editing skills because that motivates me to go out there and do the whole thing. Plus having the source material gives me a full idea of how wrong I was in doing trying to imagine it up myself and also allows me to open up to other way to do the task at hand. In other words baby steps.
Love the show BTW. When I saw this on Rev 3 I was overwhelmed with the quality of content of the first episode and I look forward to many more ventures into the Unknown of creating these effects.
Thx for the great content guys...
Keep up the good work!

I think this is a great Idea. I Don't know why I didn't think of it :p
The only camera I have at the moment is really old (I'm saving up for something new...), and it probably wouldn't be worth me trying to edit with after effects, but If there was a chance you could do this I'd absolutely love you forever...
For now, I guess I can just use the bits of the actual video to try it out!

It would be kind of cool for them to upload the footage but that might just cost a bit too much to do...but idk?
i like editing :D

Yeh, It's just an idea though, and a good one at that. Maybe there could be a section of un-edited footage at the very end of the show for us to use.
I managed to cut a few little sections out of the show to try the lightsaber effect but unfortunately in true PC style, it decided to restart and I lost everything lol - my own fault for not saving!! I might get round to trying it again, but it took so long to do the mask over every frame!! Ahh well..

I love this idea! While at Full Sail I didn't always have the kind of footage I wanted (green screen or otherwise) to practice. Epically since I wasn't interested that much in shooting it, I was more interested in adding fun stuff to it. I'm going to put the good word in for this idea!

I would love it. Ditto on not havin a camera but wanting to get in on the editing/filmmaking practice. I always liked editing more than shooting.

Very good idea. I'll see what we can do to get that going.

Cool, I just wanted to also add that I liked this idea. I don't have a camera either but I have always wanted to have some test things to try and edit.

That's a GREAT idea! I have a camera that doesn't do audio and my friend's camera (which I've been using) eats brand new batteries within minutes. I want to try blowing up a head, which in itself, it isn't hard to find that footage, but still...
