Help with tutorial...

Hey, Can somebody help me?

I'm just following the lightsaber video through, and it's gone well so far, but I've just got to the part where I colour the lightsaber and for some reason it doesn't seem to want to work... :(

There must be something I've done wrong, but im not sure what. I can apply other effects like fractal noise and colorama to it, but obiously they're not the effects that I need.

and before you ask I did adjust the numbers on the left, I reapplied the effect to take the screenshot but never adjusted anything. :p

In the pre-comp that has you four white solids, add a black solid underneath all the other layers. Than go back to you main comp and switch the blending mode of you "saber" comp to screen so that it gets rid of the black but keeps the white saber. Now you will be able to add color.

We had this in the episode but it was just a quick text layover during. I'll make sure to explain in more detail next time.
